"Wait, Dan Hawkins is still the coach at Colorado and you're already asking for the best win during his tenure? Don't you think you're getting a little ahead of yourself?" Of course I don't. The great thing about college football (and sports in general for that matter) is that hope springs eternal. You can have as much optimism as you want about the play, the next game and the next season. This doesn't mean that I am quitting on the Buffs this season, I'm not. Once a new head coach is hired that's going to be all we want to talk about. So I figured why not start discussing Dan's time at CU now (and don't worry, we aren't going to spend too much time on an era we'd all soon like to forget...).

Now, back to the topic at hand. What was Dan's best win? He didn't have a whole lot of wins overall, but a few of them were pretty damn impressive.

Here's the list that I narrowed it down to:

September 29, 2007 - Colorado 27, Oklahoma 24 - Sam Bradford started 0-1 in the Big 12 while Cody Hawkins started 1-0 thanks to this game. The only time Cody was better than Sam turned out to be one heck of a game.

November 23, 2007 - Colorado 65, Nebraska 51 - No, Nebraska wasn't any good that year. But 65 points? It felt great. Bring back Bill Callahan.

September 18, 2008 - Colorado 17, West Virginia 14 - Aric Goodman for President! Seriously. Remember how clutch we thought he was after this win?

October 17, 2009 - Colorado 34, Kansas 30 - Kansas turned out to be a pretty bad team. However, considering how bad we were, it sure seemed like a pretty huge win at the time and it was a damn fun game to watch.

October 2, 2010 - Colorado 29, Georgia 27 - Georgia has struggled this season, but the Bulldogs are still a damn good football team that would have at least two more wins this year if A.J. Green had played from day one.
