Buffalo great and NBA legend Chauncey Billups has decided to retire as originally reported by Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.
"It's just time. I know when it's time," Billups told Yahoo! Sports. "My mind and my desire is still strong. I just can't ignore the fact that I haven't been healthy for three years. I can try again and get to a point where I think I can go, but I just can't sustain. Me not being able to play the way that I can play, that's when you kind of know it's that time."
Many know Billups from his time in the NBA, finishing his career as a five-time All-Star, named to the All-NBA Second Team once, the All-NBA Third Team twice and was an All-Defensive Second Team selection twice. But Coloradans have followed and loved Billups for much longer, from multiple state titles won at George Washington High School to a one-half scare of powerhouse North Carolina in the second round of the 1997 NCAA Tournament, Billups has always been Colorado's and furthermore, a Buffalo.
Chauncey Billups vs. the 16 players traded for Chauncey Billups is a horrible mismatch. http://t.co/INqyTyCuSz pic.twitter.com/JKBke03cJq
