Report - Auburn Fires Tommy Tuberville

The SEC is officially the what have you done for me lately conference. According to ESPN.com: Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, who won 85 games and one SEC championship in 10 seasons, won't return as the Tigers' coach in 2009, multiple sources close to the situation confirmed on Wednesday. The decision was made after Tuberville met with Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs for the second time in as many days on Wednesday. Under the terms of Tuberville's contract, Auburn will owe him $3 million in the next 30 days and an additional $3 million within one year. Auburn has unofficially reached out to Mike Leach and Bobby Petrino. My question is who would now want this job? Have one bad year after a bunch of good ones and get fired? I'm sorry but for everyone who thinks CU fans are too hard on Dan Hawkins...our fans and expectations are nothing compared to this. Tuberville's last 5 years in the SEC: 13-0 9-3 11-2 9-4 5-7

According to the Oregonian: Bellotti to become Oregon athletic director; Kelly will be head coach Mike Bellotti is 115-55 as Oregon's head coach.Oregon officials have scheduled a press conference for 3:30 p.m. and are expected to announce that football coach Mike Bellotti will become the new athletic director and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly will take Bellotti's place as head coach. Sort of like a Muschamp-Brown situation at Texas except Bellotti has a designated job as an AD. I wonder how this will impact the decision of WR Diante Jackson?

USC Wearing Red Jerseys On Road, Will Forfeit Two Timeouts Against UCLA

I have now seen it all. Does anyone else wish that USC now loses because they ran out of timeouts? Too bad they are playing Slick Rick and that won't happen. USC coach Pete Carroll says the NCAA can have two of his timeouts from Saturday's crosstown rivalry game with UCLA. He just wants his players to wear their home colors. Carroll said on Monday that the Trojans would wear their cardinal red home jerseys on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. That violates an NCAA rule that requires visiting teams to wear white, and the infraction will cost him two timeouts, one per half.

Iowa State Cleaning House, Fires Offensive and Defensive Coordinator

AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa State football coach Gene Chizik is making big changes to his coaching staff after the Cyclones' dismal 2-10 season. Chizik has removed his offensive and defensive coordinators and fired two other assistants. Chizik, in a statement released on Sunday, announced that offensive coordinator Robert McFarland and defensive coordinator Wayne Bolt have been removed. Bolt will remain as linebackers coach, while McFarland will retain his role as an assistant coach and remain as the offensive line coach. Chizik dismissed quarterbacks coach Tony Petersen and secondary coach Shawn Raney. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One must begin to wonder if Hawkins will pull the trigger anytime soon. I will be disappointed if the Buffs don't upgrade or make some drastic changes in the offseason, before everyone else does. Off Topic: How good does a Lane Kiffin hire sound right now with the package of his dad and Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and former Ole Miss coach and recruiting guru Ed Orgeron?
