The Colorado Buffaloes football teams is set to wear throwbacks this Saturday against Wyoming. Jury is still out for me on how much I like them. I think they will look a lot better if they produce a victory. No indication on what the helmet will look like, something that will be interesting to see come Saturday. Hits & Myths from CU vs Toledo... or How about those Broncos?

Or, as I responded Saturday morning when all of my co-workers were giving me trouble and asking about the game: Wasn't that a great 9th-inning victory by those Rockies? or: What Game?  All I want...

Buffs Open as 7.5 Point Favorites Over Wyoming, Mister Jones Rethinking His Verbal to Colorado

12

In somewhat of a shocker, the Colorado Buffaloes will be favored over the Wyoming Cowboys by 7.5 points this Saturday. It will be the third straight game in which the Buffs are favored this year and both resulted in upset losses. Wyoming was able to stick around with Texas for a half this weekend and beat a Weber State team that should have beat Colorado State this past weekend up in Fort Collins if it wasn't for a late fumble on the one yard line by Weber State. This might be the last time the Buffs will be favored in 2009 considering the easiest games remaining are on the road against Kansas State and Iowa State. Colorado has only won two games on the road in the Dan Hawkins era which is one of the reasons the Buffs might not be favored when they travel to Manhattan and Ames. In other tough news, it looks like the rough start for the Buffs is already having an impact on recruiting, according to Kyle Ringo of the Boulder Daily Camera. Littleton, Colorado prep RB Mister Jones is going to take a few visits after witnessing the Buffs in action against Colorado State and obviously becoming a little worried when Colorado followed up that performance with a blowout loss to Toledo on national television. You can expect more and more stories like this if the play on the field continues as it does: Littleton High School running back Mister Jones committed to CU in June, but he said Saturday he has decided to make official visits to other programs because he is concerned about the state of things in Boulder. "I mean, it's obvious," Jones said when asked why he has decided to schedule visits. "They lost to like Toledo and Colorado State the last couple weeks. The CU program isn't doing too good right now." After seeing the results on the field as well as the running back rotations this season, I don't blame Jones for being a little skeptical. Hopefully the Buffs can retain Jones who is certainly a playmaker, something Colorado needs desperately.
