I know it hard to care about the game this weekend in Salt Lake City after the way the season has gone for both teams, but the wife and I come over for Thanksgiving and the equally pointless game last year and were treated great, really enjoyed Boulder and the surrounding towns, so I want to throw out the welcome mat to any diehards making the reverse trip this year.
Weather is going to be in the high 40's or low 50's and mostly clear so a great day for mediocre football.
This year, unlike your last trip over, it is much, much easier to get to the game. The U of U has a deal with the Utah Transit Authority (our bus and lite rail operator) so that anyone holding a game ticket for any Utah athletic contest has a free all day pass on any bus, light rail, or commuter rail so there is no need to rent a car to get to the game. If you stay downtown, in West Valley, by the Airport, or in the south valley, you should be either a very short hotel shuttle from a rail stop that will get you right to the Stadium and not cost you an extra centavo. In fact, if you fly in you can likely take the train right to your hotel for only 2.50 and back so it is a lot cheaper to follow your team.
Plenty of good places to enjoy Thanksgiving or even an adult beverage before or after the game so feel welcome, if you're coming.
See you at the game!!! (P.S. Am more than willing to share travel in SLC tips with any Buff fans. Email me through my SB-Nation account.)
