Colorado Buffaloes Recruiting: Signing Day Live Blog

Well here we go! It's signing day and that means it's time to stare at the fax machine and hope that all of our signatures get in on time. Really only one uncommitted guy to keep an eye on today and that's California linebacker Seth Jacobs, who will announce his decision at 7:30 p.m. tonight and is choosing between Colorado, Oklahoma State and Arkansas. The other potential prospect that the Buffs are looking at, Louisiana athlete Jontrey Tillman won't likely be deciding today.

off topic, but what happened with CJ and Klatt?

I thought Klatt left to focus on game announcing, but now he’s on in the mornings and I don’t see CJ on the roster at all.

Klatt went to 104.3 the fan in the mornings and CJ is still on in the afternoons at 102.3

CJ is on with one of the worst guys on the air waves Nate Kreckman

that still doesn't explain why they split

Other than CJ realized how shitty Klatt is

102.3 was losing money so they dropped several people

They also reformatted there station from Live and Local to ESPN programming

I agree

Love CJ, but that show BLOWS.

Evans and Klatt is decent.

not today, it's not

they’re talking about sweatshirts. For like 5 minutes

That's typical

actually, as they get often distracted. But Evans is fairly knowledgeable when they do talk about sports. And Klatt isn’t boring. It’s bearable sportstalk on my 45 min drive to Boulder every morning.

by BuffulanceMan on Feb 1, 2012 8:25 AM MST up reply actions

Evans & Klatt beats Drew & Scott

I can’t stand Hastings, and Drew just loves relating everything back to baseball. Listening to them compare the Super Bowl to the NBA and MLB drives me nuts.

by clutch2999 on Feb 1, 2012 8:29 AM MST up reply actions

I like Klatt way better

as a talk show host than a TV commentator and Drew is probably the most objective commentator in Colorado. The same can’t be said of his counter part, Scott, which is obvious if you ever listen to him call a Nuggets game.

by Sleepzilla23 on Feb 1, 2012 10:03 AM MST up reply actions

I like Klatt!

and CJ, and Scott, and Drew. You guys hate too much! But saying all that I haven’t listened to any of them in probably a year.

Kreckman sucks big time though. No argument there.

CJ still on 102.3 w kreckman in late afternoon/evening.

Not trying to be selfish, but I sure would like to see one more O-lineman added to this class with Asiata leaving and everything. Other than that, this class is a great foundation for the future.

I'm pissed they moved Jim Rome

I know it’s on 102.3, but they don’t stream online, so I can’t listen at work.

Sports radio has gone way down hill since the new year. The only one I think that has a clue of what he’s talking about, is Sandy Klough

last night

he had a decent discussion on the Nuggs. I thought he was spot on. Didn’t hate, just saying we’re good, coulda/shoulda beat the Clips, and might have if Lawson was playing.

He’s just not all gooey eyed over Tebow, thank God. And doesn’t hate like like Al seems to sometimes.

i can't comprehend how

someone can follow sports in the state for 40 years and not have any biases. Also if he doesn’t enjoy rooting (at least somewhat) for the local teams he follows, what in the world is wrong with him? I moved to LA 6 years ago. I’ve been to 2 hockey games, both Avs/ Kings. Once because I got free suite tickets. Once because I got free tickets on the glass. Both because my friend Tyler only likes hockey.

I WAS with the Avs Stanley Cup party at the Chop House after game 7. I watched the riots from the balcony with Sakic.

Guard Play

Chauncey was awesome on Monday. And Paul is a Top 10 player in the league. However, even with Lawson out and Afflallo shooting like ass, we were up w/ 40s to go.

So, we can beat the Clips with better guard play. Whether that can happen remains to be seen.

Flipping Christian Powell was HUGE

I like how our back field has shifted from undersized to big. If he’s even remotely as good as Vickers, we’ll be set no matter who is running the ball.

Mosely. Sweet

Nebraska was still trying to recruit him and he met with them after his verbal. was a lil worried

It took all of us working together to fail

National Signing Day

Is probably my most unproductive day of the year…..

GIVE UP- At some point, hanging in there just makes you look like an even bigger loser.

Agree

This day is flying by and I have done little to nothing so far

As useless as I am today

It still does not compare to the opening Thursday and Friday of the NCAA tournament.

I take both days off.

I figure it’s better off that I do for both me and the company.

I as well, I just feel guilty on those days

I take PTO on the Friday

Good idea though.

You can find me and my buddies ballin’ at the gym in the morning until 10 when we cruise over to Buffalo Wild Wings and park ourselves for the next 5 hours or so. Ha

If he goes to USC and plays

that means he would have won the starting QB position against top tier talent and recruits….meaning we made a very big mistake in not keeping him here.

by clbuff28 on Feb 1, 2012 10:38 AM MST up reply actions

that's only this year

Miles has 5 years to hurt us

If memory is correct

Carson Palmer was the last QB that CU and USC battled over and that didn’t work out so well for us.

by clbuff28 on Feb 1, 2012 10:50 AM MST up reply actions

yep

technically, we offered Matt Barkley first, but that wasn’t really a battle

I think he'll stick with UW

I don't even think it comes to that

UW has a good name at Mullen (Aguilar) and the rest of the class speaks for itself. He’ll go UW

Kamehameha School?

Seriously? What an awesome name.

A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

who is the other greyshirt?

So we have 25 signed, one greyshirt and one early enrollee. That should mean we have 2 spots left, but we have three commits still unsigned. So are we asking one of those three to greyshirt? Do we expect one of these guys to enroll this week? Who has the scoop?

gotcha. I think that offering full four year deals is only fair

by Connor Shreve on Feb 1, 2012 11:28 AM MST up reply actions

I agree that there should be 4 year scholarships, but I wonder what affect they will actually have.

If Saban is forced to give a kid a four year scholarship, is he going to sue when Saban tells him he is pulling the scholarship? Or will he just transfer or go on medical scholarship like he would now?

That was my same question

Or if it’s basically only revoked if the student fails to meet some academic threshold. It seemed like basically another way to stratify recruits and programs.
