The Ralphie Report Guide To Boulder: Vote Best Hotel, Nominate Best Things To Do On Sunday

To help welcome our new Pac-12 friends in their pilgrimage's to Boulder we are creating The Ralphie Report Guide To Boulder.
So here's how this will work. On the dates you see below we will be taking nominations for entries into each of the categories below. You'll have two days to nominate per category. After two days I will put up the nomination post for the next category and include a poll for the previous one. The top three vote getters in each category will be featured in the guide so don't be afraid to offer up some different nominations and make sure to come back and vote in each category. The timing of this will take us right into fall practice. We're getting close...

Boulderado for experience and location. Harvest house for proximity to stadium and friendliness to opposing fans.

1 vote out of 13 for the Harvest House???
jeez, are you all high-end hotel critics? This poll is for visiting fans who are coming to town specifically for a CU game!
first of all, it wasn't me, but I have no problem with it being nominated or voted for
it’s within walking distance from the stadium, has a great breakfast restaurant on location, and lots of opposing fans stay there.
In this poll you can either vote for “best hotel for visiting fans” which I thought it was supposed to be, or “most luxurious/expensive/best hotel”. Two vastly different things in my opinion. Go stay at the Brown Palace if all you care about is staying in a 5-star hotel, but you won’t get any “gameday football experience” there.obviously
If only for the fact that I spent so much time breaking into their hot tub, Harvest House gets my vote.
Look, I've already told Utah to suck it. There's no going back now.
dont kill me. i don’t know the harvest house :O

then you have no business voting in this poll
have you ever in your life been to the CU campus or gone to a CU football game? You would know the harvest house if you had.
I’m picking on you now though, I’m sorry
really, fans of other Big 12 teams should be voting on this
If you’re local, there’s a good chance you’ve never stayed in a hotel in Boulder. (of course, I find it hard to believe that someone who went to school there has never even heard of the Harvest House)

as a student i never partied anywhere where you had a purchase a drink before a game. the kegs always flowed

I never paid for anything at Harvest House until after I graduated.
Like I said before- all I ever did when I was a student there was sneak into the hot tub. Still, it’s pretty odd that you never heard of it. It’s about 300 yards from the stadium, and just as much of a Boulder institution as anything else in this survey. I don’t really care, I’ve only ever stayed in 2 hotels in Boulder: Harvest House and Boulderado. I’ve never heard of the St. Julien. But I wouldn’t be more surprised if you said you had never heard of the UMC or the Fox Theater.

Check it out after the game if you get the chance.

yeah, after checking out the website
I don’t think I’d like that St. Julien place.

as far as things to do on Sunday, I'll offer this:
nurse a hangover at Foolish Craig’s for brunch, take a hike around Chatauqua, drive down 93 to grab dinner at The Fort, and then book a hotel closer to the airport. Then head home early Monday, sad that you lost.
Look, I've already told Utah to suck it. There's no going back now.
Sunday activities
Royal Arch hike in Chatauqua
Brunch and then lounging around Pearl Street
Drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park
Drive down and explore Denver
Take advantage of one of the mountain biking trails around Boulder
Go tour the Coors brewery in Golden
tubing down Boulder Creek (Probably better off doing this in September vs November)
Is it easy to rent a mountain bike?
The Ralphie Report - University of Colorado Athletics
SB Nation Denver
I think you can rent from both
Performance on Arapahoe and University Cycles on Pearl
Sunday is Microbrewery Bike Tour day
Rent a bike and head to;
Avery
Boulder Beer
Mountain Sun
Twisted Pine
Eat, ride, drink, repeat
Shoulder to Shoulder

^^This and...
…take a Banjo Billy’s tour of Boulder. They meet at the Hotel Boulderado and you get driven around Boulder in an old school bus with wooden planks on the side. They show you a bit of the history of Boulder and historic sites plus you are allowed to bring your own booze on the bus. Definitely a fun experience.

I voted for
The St. Julian. Sorry, but that place is really nice and the location is solid. Almost went for the Boulderado b/c of the history and great location. Now, I never actually stay at these places…instead we look at the Harvest House, Marriott and even the Days Inn ( I think it’s a Days Inn) on Arapahoe by Daddy Bruce’s b/c we’re never actually in the room while in Boulder. Sleep & Shower is all that you need.
I’m just thinking that if people are coming from San Fran, LA, Seattle, etc they might like a better place b/c frankly my friends & I don’t give a damn where we stay….it’s all about being back in Boulder.
