Charles Johnson is looking at a possible run as a democrat for the Colorado Board Regents. I like CJ and listening to him on the radio for the past couple of years I can say I share most of his political viewpoints.  If he gets elected there would finally be a strong voice on the side of athletics. That’s something I think most people who post here can get excited about. Athletics may not be the most pressing issue for a University but it should be acknowledged for what it is, CU’s biggest revenue generating department and it’s best opportunity to recruit athletes and students from around the country. I know this won’t be his only platform; CJ is a standup individual and has been an extremely positive figure in the Community ever since he arrived in Colorado, but he will definitely not let the issue stand on the sidelines.

I think he has a very realistic chance to win but what I am wondering is if you are a Republican and a CU fan will you vote for CJ. Sitting on the board of regents seems like a far less partisan political position than most. This post is not meant to spur a debate on politics or party affiliation but rather to try and gauge where people might stand on a CJ candidacy.
