The Ralphie Report Guide To Boulder: Nominate Best Breakfast, Vote Best Burger
To help welcome our new Pac-12 friends in their pilgrimage's to Boulder we are creating The Ralphie Report Guide To Boulder.
So here's how this will work. On the dates you see below we will be taking nominations for entries into each of the categories below. You'll have two days to nominate per category. After two days I will put up the nomination post for the next category and include a poll for the previous one. The top three vote getters in each category will be featured in the guide so don't be afraid to offer up some different nominations and make sure to come back and vote in each category. The timing of this will take us right into fall practice. We're getting close...

This is going to be quite the race between Dark Horse and the Sink...

The sink is the worst
if your over 6’2. Despite how good the burger is, and its awesome, i had to vote against it because that ceiling is infuriating.

Oh I hear you...
I’m 6’4. But hitting your head is part of the charm. Amirite?

6' 5"
And I agree. Can’t tell yo uthe number of times I banged my head on the pipes during a late Thursday night out…
I only voted for The Sink because it's an institution
Did you know Robert Redford worked there? It’s true! Ask literally anyone on campus and they will tell you. If you don’t ask, they will still tell you! I hate everything about the Dark Horse except the fact that it was really easy to drink under age (and 1 other thing that will go unnamed, because it is incredibly un-PC).
Look, I've already told Utah to suck it. There's no going back now.

breakfast
1) Lucille’s
2) Foolish Craig’s
.
.
.
3) The Buff. But only for the cheap ass mimosas. And really then, only on graduation day. Their food is basically Denny’s +

Village Coffee Shop
It’s the finest breakfast joint in which to nurse a hangover and it doesn’t even serve booze . . . that’s as high of a compliment as I can give. Plus the atmosphere is excellent – stepping in there is like being transported to a diner in a small town.
Snooze
Just opened and if you haven’t gone, well you should
I was thinking about nominating them myself.

what is this alleged "Snooze" of which you speak?

A very good but always busy flap jack house

Called over there July 4th at about noon
2 hour wait……
Its the best breakfast place on the planet.
But they’re right, you always wait at least an hour in Denver. We go every weekend and Ill drive over and put our names in then go home, get my wife and we’ll walk over. Usually works out just right

this must have opened since I left
Menu looks solid, although the lack of biscuits and gravy is glaring. I’m very intrigued by this breakfast pot pie thing, and would like to learn more in the future. And you can’t go wrong with Eggs Benny.
Until I visit, however, I am inclined to stand by Sam’s #3 as my go to diner of choice. Also Pete’s Kitchen the end.

I mean any of them
looks like the Ft. Fun location just celebrated a year. I’d never heard of it. When did the Denver location open?

OK, I've been gone for 6
that’s satisfying, at least. I wouldn’t forgive myself for missing a max breakfast spot if this was in place in my time.

I have a late addition- Santiago's
I didn’t even know they had a Boulder location. Their breakfast burritos are to die for- and it is 100% related to the fact that they make the most delicious green chile in the known world. I just learned that they ship the stuff out of state. I ordered 8 quarts. I will also be nominating them for Best Burrito.

Agreed!

Sorry
But the Dark Horse does nothing for me. It’s out of the way, has a TGIF feel b/c of the decor and if they hadn’t served me underage i never would have gone.
I voted for the Pub on Pearl largely b/c it was available late at night and I liked to play pool there if the catacombs was too crowded.. Not sure if it was the best, b/c frankly, I would have eaten anything at those hours.
Walnut & Southside Walnut Cafes
I prefer the Southside, but they’re both pretty damn good.
Also Lucille’s and Le Peep.

Feel bad for Hungry Toad....
….Kinda outside the regular stomping grounds and feel it’d be worthy of a top or near top place if more hit it up….
Sink Burger is a bit overrated, but the place is a must visit basically…
Thunderbird is a pretty good one actually, but don’t know where the hell they are now b/c that whole area where the old one was is being turned into apartments now….
I’m biased for the Dark Horse b/c I spent far too much time there….
As for Breakfast, Village and Lucille’s….depending on what kinda breakfast you’re seeking. The Buff is REALLY overrated and I can’t say I ever really bothered eating there much after the first few times. Was just a great place to drink for breakfast, but I can do that in bed….
