Alec Burks Selected #12 By The Utah Jazz In The 2011 NBA Draft

Stay connected for news and updates

So much for Alec supposedly slipping further down the draft today. Burks has been selected twevelth overall by the Utah Jazz in tonight's NBA Draft. Alec became Colorado's first draft pick since 2004 and only their sixth since 1990. Many Buff fans may not be happy with the team that Alec ended up with but it's time to be damn proud of a fantastic Buffalo.

Here's what SB Nation had to say about the pick:

Burks, 6'6" with ball skills and decent ability from medium range, could provide offensive pop for the Jazz. He can create his own looks, and will likely be one of the Jazz's better slashers. Burks is also one of the 2011 NBA Draft's less-discussed prospects, having come out of high school as a lightly-regarded recruit and gone to Colorado, not known as a major producer of NBA talent. But the last Colorado guard to be taken in the lottery, Chauncey Billups, turned out to be a fairly good player.

Head over to SLC Dunk to get a Jazz fan's viewpoint.

Congrats Alec, we'll be back with more.
