Colorado: Tyler Hansen has 15 career starts. He has looked good at times -- he was completing 68 percent of his passes before he got hurt last year after seven games -- and he turned in a good spring. Backups Nick Hirschman and Brent Burnette have no experience.
CU Positive BBall Link: NBA Mock Draft 2011: Bucks Take Alec Burks At No. 10 - SBNation.com
In light of these questions, and our tentative answers, Alec Burks of Colorado makes a great deal of sense for the Bucks. Burks is a smooth, athletic guard with highly-regarded ball-handling skills, something that would fit well with coach Scott Skiles' propensity to use multiple ball-handler lineups.
He excels at attacking the rim, finishing well and drawing fouls at a high rate, something Corey Maggette was intended but ultimately not allowed to do very often. It's unlikely Burks replicates Maggette in that department immediately, but thankfully he's also shown the ability to both score in volume while also keeping his teammates involved.
While Burks' jumper isn't exactly consistent, he's shown excellent touch at the line and most scouts insist his form is very workable. And frankly, the Milwaukee offense could stand to shift away from jump-shooting a bit. In the short term it's unlikely Burks would wrest significant playing time away from John Salmons, who remained entrenched despite his struggles last season, but the two actually bear a significant resemblance, and Burks could benefit from playing behind the veteran early on.

1. Texas A&M Cyrus Gray had at least 100 yards rushing in each of A&M's final seven games last season. I wouldn't have been surprised if Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael were the Big 12's top leading returning rushers this year, but a midseason injury from Michael prevented it from happening. Regardless, his return gives Texas A&M by far the best tandem in the Big 12, and arguably the best in the country. When Mister Jones isn't cranking the Counting Crows on his stereo, he's a pretty good reserve, alongside Ben Malena, who impressed me on my visit to College Station this spring.

The Bowl Championship Series stripped Southern California of its 2004 title Monday, leaving that season without a BCS champion. The announcement was no surprise. BCS officials had said USC was in danger of having its championship vacated after the Trojans were hit with heavy NCAA sanctions last year for rules violations committed during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

This is the story of how a tennis-playing, Ivy-educated history major with thinning hair is changing your life. Not just your college sports-viewing life. Not just changing the former sleepy West Coast conference that was the Pac-10, or even college athletics.
It's bigger than that.
When Larry Scott leaves office as Pac-12 commissioner -- which may be sooner than later, judging by his swift, mind-blowing accomplishments -- his legacy will draft behind him like a comet's tail.
That was assured the moment he gathered the league's 12 presidents for a hastily arranged Sunday conference call on May 1. Three days later, iPad in hand, Scott announced a record 12-year, $3 billion deal with ESPN and Fox that represented a 250 percent increase in the league's rights fees.

It's out of the Big 12 and on to the Pac-12 for Colorado, who's trying to get past the Dan Hawkins era to make a big splash in the new league. Are the players in place and is there enough talent to battle the conference's big boys? Can Tyler Hansen finally get the passing game moving?
