Colorado And Jon Embree Ready To Begin A Huge Recruiting Weekend
The Colorado Buffaloes finished their 2011 season on a high note last Friday when they defeated the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City, ending the road losing streak that has plagued the team since 2007 and ending any hopes of Utah winning the South Division. With the games over, head coach Jon Embree and his staff begin to amp up the second piece of the season as they spend the next two months finalizing the teams 2012 recruiting class.
With the exodus of a very large senior class and the attrition that has taken place due to the coaching staff putting it's stamp on the program the Buffaloes are expected to sign a class of 26-28. This is Embree's first full class at Colorado and the players he brings in will play a huge role in his success as the head coach here. The Buffaloes currently have 15 players verbally committed to the program, but only four of those are on the defensive side of the ball. In a conference that already includes Chip Kelly and Lane Kiffin and next year adds Rich Rodriguez and the Dread Pirate Leach, defense is going to be absolutely vital.
This weekend, the Buffaloes look to get get a jump on the next two months by hosting a huge contingent of commits and prospects alike. The success (or failure) the coaches have over the next few days will play a major role in the recruiting class at large.
Take a look at who is on campus after the jump...

Ok this would be totally cool on the Buffs uniforms
I would totally buy this, and then the jersey at the end of the season.
GIVE UP- At some point, hanging in there just makes you look like an even bigger loser.
Perfect weekend for picking up some of these kids
All the Califorina kids that have never seen snow will probably love it.
The campus always looks beautiful covered in snow.
Go Coach Embree! Sign those recruits!
8 inches on the ground; 6 inches today
and a high of 23. Which has already been reached.
Welcome to North Dakota!
You know Embree is appealing to those who have NFL aspirations… “What if you get drafted by Green Bay, you going to say no, I don’t do snow and cold”
Good point
& that’s a major selling point of this coaching staff. They’ve either played in the NFL or placed multiple players in the NFL at their position, so their opinions of what needs to happen to get there are legitimate.

Don't want to jinx it but anything less would be an enormous disappointment
CSU should be breaking in a new coaching staff and the road losing streak is gone

Fairchild canned today as expected
I have a CSU alum cousin who seems to believe Gary Barnett is a likely candidate for the job. No idea if there’s anything to that.
