Bringing In Reinforcements On The D-Line, Colorado Adds Another Verbal Commit

The Colorado Buffaloes and their coaches are showing no signs of slowing down on the recruiting trail as they have just received a verbal commitment from Riverside, California defensive end Samson Kafovalu. Samson's pledge continues a torrid pace for recruiting on the defensive side of the ball. Kafovalu is the fifth defensive line commit in the last five weeks, adding another very solid player who should come in and compete for playing time in his first full season. After a slower than expected start in California for the Buffs, Kafovalu is the fourth straight verbal from the state, which now has eight total players headed to Boulder.

Welcome aboard Samson!

Samson Kafovalu

Position: Defensive End
Measurables: 6-3/253
40 Yard Dash: N/A
High School: Arlington (Riverside, CA) HS

Rankings
:
- Rivals: 3-star, 5.5
- 247Sports: No profile
- Scout: 3-star, 55th ranked DE
- ESPN: 2-star, 117th ranked DE, 74

Other Schools of Interest: Arizona, Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Washington State

Status: Verbal to Colorado

Notes: From Rivals ($):
"Kafovalu, a 6-foot-3, 253-pounder, played every position on the defensive line as a senior. He constantly took on double and triple teams, allowing Arlington's linebackers to make plays.

"Coach 'Tui' at Colorado is a good guy. I told him it doesn't matter to me where I play on the defensive line. He did say I would probably play the three-technique," Kafovalu said. "I am a hard working guy. I am going to go out there and do what I got to do."

I like this guy a lot

I don’t think he comes in and plays right away but in a season or two I think he’s going to be logging a lot of plays for us on the Defensive Line

The theme for this year's recruiting class is "solid"

Not “dazzling”, but solid. Nate Solder and Rodney Stewart type of guys. Solid work ethic (let’s hope) with no primadonnas. Samson appears to fit that description.

I believe that is Embree's goal

I remember he said something along the lines of recruiting “guys who love playing football.” His first few weeks off fall camp were spent weeding out the players that couldn’t hang with the style of toughness he wanted to play with, so hopefully this is a really good sign.

hmmm I didn’t know Jesus was Samoan

A baseball park is the one place where a man's wife doesn't mind his getting excited over somebody else's curves
