Buffs Win! Colorado Takes Down #8 Missouri 89-76

First year Colorado coach Tad Boyle has his first breakthrough win. The Buffaloes upset the #8 ranked Missouri Tigers in Boulder, 89-76. Colorado had lost 13 straight Big 12 conference openers, so it's fitting that they would get over the hump in their last season before moving to the new Pac-12. The win gives the Buffs their first win over a top ten team since 2003 (Texas and Kansas) and their thirteenth straight home victory.

Missouri native Alec Burks had a huge game, pacing the Buffs with 36 points and 8 rebounds, 20 of those points came in the first half. Cory Higgins came on strong in the second half ending the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds, picking up the slack when Missouri started putting more pressure on Burks. For the Tigers, junior forward Laurence Bowers lead the way with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 blocks.

This win puts the Buffaloes back on track for a potential post season tournament appearance, hopes that had been somewhat derailed after non-conference losses to Georgia, San Francisco, Harvard and New Mexico. The Buffaloes have on huge test as they hit the road to take on the Kansas State Wildcats next Wednesday.

It feels good doesn't it? Tad love!
