I'm not a basketball guru however last night I felt that there were nearly NO fouls called against Nebraska. Again I might be a novice basketball watcher and a bit of a homer but I felt that the officiating was terrible.
Even Doug Gottlieb, commentator on ESPN, said there were 2 fouls he would have called against Nebraska. He also mentioned a few times that they are "letting the kids play" and not calling much. Lastly, he made a point that this was one of the least foul called games this year for the Buffs. Doesn't take a genius to read between the lines there.
I definitely believe you need to the let the kids play ball but last night was ridiculous in my opinion. Multiple times Nebraska defenders were reaching in and not getting ball yet NO calls. Am I under the wrong understanding of the game that if you reach in and do NOT touch ball that is a foul? Other calls as well.
At the end of the day the game felt like a jungle ball backyard high school game where the more contact the better.
Fellow Buff fans set me straight if I'm being too much of a homer!
