Colorado Releases Men's Basketball Schedule. Throw That Excuse Out The Window

Colorado has just released their 2010-2011 men's basketball schedule, the first for new Head Coach Tad Boyle. This is a make or break year for the Buffaloes, there is just too much talent on the team to not make the NCAA Tournament. It has to be done and it has to be done this year.

Five game non-conference home stand. Oregon State from the Pac-10.  The toughest road game being a contast at Georgia. Tournament play with opponents that can include New Mexico, Indiana and Northern Iowa. Ladies and gentlemen, there goes that excuse.  This is a great schedule that is more than manageable for this year's Buffs. If Tad can pull this team together then we can certainly start hoping to exit the Big 12 with a bang.

What does everyone think?  Check out the rest of the schedule after the jump.

Of the five nationally televised contests the Buffs will play on the Big 12 schedule, CU will travel to Kansas State (Jan. 12) on ESPNU; at Nebraska (Jan. 18) on ESPN2; host both Texas A&M (Feb. 9) and Kansas State (Feb. 12) on ESPNU; and at Kansas (Feb. 19) on ESPN.

I'm a little concerned

They have to nail the non-conference portion and do well in Big XII play with this schedule because the selection commity is not going to put them in the field with an 8-8 conference record. This schedule screams bubble. They better finish the season in the top 5 or 6 in the Big XII to not be sweating on Selection Sunday.

hmm...

yeah, it looks pretty easy, but hopefully our horrible struggles outside of the Coors Event Center are a thing of the past. I’m actually a little surprised we have so many road games non-conference. 4 true road games and 2 games in Vegas for the tournament (by the way, why are we doing home and homes with teams like San Francisco, Cal-Bakersfield, and Harvard? guess we need money) Compare that to the women’s team that plays one road game (all the way across the country to DU) and 2 tournament games at USC.

We need to go something like 12-2 non-con to have a good chance at the tourney. Hopefully they can get it done. I’m looking forward to b-ball now! (well, that’s kind of a lie, I’m still thinking 99% about football)

But if you're like me

The fact that BBall is even on the radar at this time of year is a big deal

Road Woes must stop

Just like the FB team. We must get some wins on the road.
This is crucial!

Crashing the Boards

Buffs have got to get better on the inside. That factor alone could account for 5-6 more wins than last year. 19-20 wins is definitely do-able with this schedule. GO BUFFS!
