In light of the news about the potential Ohio St. game in 2011 and possibly meeting up with Nebraksa in non-conference play, we ask the question:

CU vs. Maryland/UVA/VT/Navy in the DC area
something I could take the metro to.
CU-PSU in Philly would be cool, too.
NEBRASKA
I want to play the Huskers on any day that ends in Y. Any time, anywhere.
Because they can’t stand us, it feels that much better when we win and hurts them that much more.
Texas schools are forgotten by Sunday. The Oklahoma win a few years back stunned them but did not derail their program.
62-36 set back the Red six years. They needed a last second TD in 2000 and a school record field goal in ‘08 to beat us. The series has been a lot closer than they would like to admit especially since 2000. NU leads the series 6-4 in the last 10 years with those two losses included. This series could very easily be the other way around. Think about it. As bad as we were in 2007 in Cody’s freshman year, we still hung 65 on them in Calahans last game.
This should be like the USC/Notre Dame series. Just make it happen. Every year.

Voted any Big 10 game
I really dislike the trend of going to these neutral site games CSU included. Though i think in this case it makes some sense given how small Hughes Stadium is and the fact that it is an instate rivalry with most of the states population in the Denver area.
I mean I hear LSU and Oregon in Dallas in 2011? Whats the point (ok obviously money) but I really think it takes a lot away from the game day experience. Isn’t a night game at Death Valley a special experience in itself? The live college football experience is so much better than the NFL because of the pageantry associated with being on a university campus. Look at Boise and Vtech at Fedex field this year? Why? What is wrong with Lane Stadium, does Boise have a big fan base in the DC area, of course not but if they did I’m sure they would be happy to drive out to Blacksburg.
I like all those games that NoVA picked out but I want to go to State College, Blacksburg or Charlottesville rather than see them in a sterile environment like Fedex Field or Lincoln Financial Field. I mean hell just look at the names of those stadiums. Maybe we can just fast forward five years and go ahead and cover the buffs uniforms in patches like a Nascar driver. “Ralphie brought to you by Chipotle”
I voted Nebraska (of course)
but I totally hear what you’re saying. I’ve probably been to about 6 of the CU-CSU games at the old and new Mile High and it’s always a good time but I much prefer the games at Folsom. Like you said college football is all about pageantry and playing in great on-campus stadiums and playing in those sterile NFL monstrosities takes all that away (is my pro-college bias showing??) Again like you said though, with CSU it’s pretty much a must due to Hughes.
I’m not really worried about future scheduling, our ADs have always done a good job in my opinion. Just give me CSU, one or two interesting major conference teams and a cupcake at home to fill it out and I’ll be happy. I can do without playing any Texas teams for a few years or the games in Yankee stadium or Cowboys stadium or whoever else comes calling with a big pay day.
well, I didn't say NEVER, just a few years
I just don’t think the first thing we need to do after leaving those guys behind is set up a long term home and home series with Texas Tech or Baylor or something (cause Texas sure as hell won’t be coming to our stadium non-con). Talk about boring…
+1
Agree, part of what seperates College from Pro football is the college campus environment and highly personal feel you get about “your” team. I prefer the (sometimes) small town feel for a game that doesn’t have the huge mega city market, and high end corporate feel I get from Pro game.
Get rid of these stupid neutral site games, its just boring! And yes, I do feel that way about the “Rockly Mountain Showdown” too. Move it to Ft Collins and Boulder
The game will never again be played in Ft. Collins as long as they play in that stadium
so it isn’t even worth thinking about.
Florida...
As much as I would like to keep playing Nebraska, considering we are going to be playing routinely in Cali and have “established” connections in Texas, its gotta be a Florida team. I would even settle for an SEC team. Georgia is great and LSU or a rematch with Alabama would be awesome. But we would have to get a home and home, none of this only at their stadium. I would even be ok with neutral site in a new market.
Michigan!
While I hope the Buffs continue the Nebraska rivalry in the future, I would love to see us revive the Michigan series. When I attended the ’94, ’96, and ’97 games, the atmosphere at Michigan Stadium and Folsom Field was something else.

I voted for Neberaska but there is no right answe above
The only right answer is make all of them happen. We need to play in Texas every couple of years to help recruiting. We need to play Nebraska and some SEC school because those are the games the fans and alumni want. I also think we shoud try to get some games in the midwest and try to make inroads recruiting there as well.
Nebraska
They will miss us more than any other B12 team (save Oklahoma) because they will miss the hatred. Nebraska will get to the B10 and everything will be so vanilla for years, nobody will be circling Nebraska in red on schedules. Cu will develop rivalries in the P12 but nothing like Nebraska… ergo keep it going.
As conferences
the Big 10 and PAC 12 should just go ahead and get together and schedule rotating out of conference games annually. That way it maintains some of the old rose bowl rivalries and would come in especially handy when renegotiating television contracts. A lot easier to sell a network on Ohio State vs USC, UCLA vs Michigan, Penn State vs Washington etc etc than Ohio vs Akron or UCLA vs San Jose State or whatever other cupcake games there usually are. That way the network gets a couple of marquee match ups each weekend before conference games start. I for one would certainly rather see a national out of conference schedule rather than three pin cushions and CSU.
Keep it going....
As a Husker fan who lives in Colorado, too would like to see the rivalry continued. Will miss making bets w/ my CU friends / co-workers. Oh well, I know there are some Iowa and PSU fans I can wager with.
