Audio Clips Discussing the Buffs and the Pac-10
Colorado Rivals.com - Adam Munsterteiger - 1530 AM the Fan Austin
-believes Colorado has an offer. Oklahoma State might be out of the Pac-10 bid if Baylor is part of the Texas package
Orangebloods.com - Texas Rivals - 1530 AM the Fan Austin
-believe Colorado has an invitation and accept an invitation to the Pac-10. Calls Larry Scott (Pac-10 commission) brilliant with possibly adding CU now and cutting the Baylor issue off at the knees. Brings up $10 million issue, maybe the Pac-10 will pay that, still the potential of Big 12 dissolving making Colorado not have to pay the $10 million issue. Discuss the possibility of Pac-10 now going Colorado and Utah, the best scenario for the Buffs.
Says their is a deadline for Colorado as well as Missouri and Nebraska around June 15th.

If OSU is out…so is OU…which might be why we are now hearing UofHouston may be in.

yeah
now the rumor mill has CU in the Pac-16….with 5 teams all from Texas: UT, A&M, Tech, Baylor, and as of today Uof Houston name has come up.
Per 610 am radio – TX Senator John Whitmire (D-Houston):
Been in discussions about UH-P16 much of the day. UH Chancellor in discussions with P10 officials. TX is open to the idea. Still just preliminary.
Reporter Barry Warner says he has 3 P10 sources confirming talks.
OU is tied to OSU…if OSU is out…I’d assume OU is too.

Goofy if true -
As a CU fan, I would MUCH rather join a Pac-12 with Utah than a Pac-16 with Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and either OU and OkieSt or any combination of left over SWC Texas schools UHouston, TCU, SMU, RIce, Baylor. (BUT I cannot for the life of me EVER see the Pac-10 schools accepting Baylor, and probably not TCU or SMU either, because of their religious affiliations.) Actually, I’d much prefer UNM to any of the non UT/TA&M Texas schools, for lots of reasons, not the least of which is fun roadtrips to the Land of Enchantment.
If it has to be a Pac-16 without UNM, then I’d much rather the new teams be CU, Utah, Texas, Texas A&M, OU, and OkieSt., with CU and Utah in a pod with Arizona St. and Arizona, and the Texas+Oklahoma schools in a Central Time zone pod (substitute other SWC Texas schools for the Oklahoma schools if that rumor proves to be reality).
So the deadline is the 15th?
The deadline for what? CU to say yes we’re staying or going? Are they going to make us sign something that says we won’t leave? Give us the boot from the Big 12?
I guess I really don’t get what the Big 12 can do to us if we ignore their deadline. Late July is when we would be locked in for 2011 correct?
So the conferences with Houston would be like this i’m assuming
Pod A
USC
UCLA
CAL
Stanford
Pod B
Washington
Washington St
Oregon
Oregon St
Pod C
Texas
Texas Tech
Texas A&M
Baylor
Pod D
Houston
Colorado
Arizona
Arizona St

I wish OU would at least come. I am fine with a pac 16 but with OU out of it that destory’s alot of rivalries. and what game would we look forward to every year? We would hardly have a rivalry game in your setup. At least with OU there is a little more big 12 action

OU isn't quite as tied to OSU as you think.
OU would go if Texas does.

I am thinking if OU and OSU would be out
and Houston comes in… the other invite would go to Utah
so your pods would look like
Pod A
USC
UCLA
CAL
Stanford
Pod B
Washington
Washington St
Oregon
Oregon St
Pod C
Texas
Texas Tech
Texas A&M
Houston (or Baylor)
Pod D
Utah
Colorado
Arizona
Arizona St
there is a chance Stanford or CAL might veto Baylor and would allow Houston instead
More expansion fuel
