Attention Buddy Jones, Baylor fans, residents of Texas, read this!

Those e-mails Bob posted and the part he made bold makes me insane! What a liar! Baylor is superior academically? Wikipedia lists 4 rankings for most schools, ARWU, Times Higher Education, USNWR, and Washington Monthy. CU is ahead of Baylor in all of them, CU is in the AAU, Baylor is not, CU is a powerful research university, Baylor is not, it's not even close. Better facilities??? This is all about football, I don't care you if you have a nice softball field, Floyd Casey is the crappiest stadium in the Big 12, probably the crappiest in all BCS conferences!

I'll take crap about the play of our football team the last 4 years from pretty much anyone because frankly we deserve it. Anyone but F-ING BAYLOR that is! In the last 4 years (arguably one of our worst 4 year periods ever) we finished 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 5th in division. Big bad Baylor with their "vastly superior football team" finished 6th, 5th, 6th, and 5th in that same period. We've won 4 division crowns, 1 conference crown and averaged 3rd place in division since the formation of the Big 12. Baylor has averaged a last place finish in division and their best finish ever in 14 years in 5th place! Know your place Baylor, you’re not allowed to talk trash about anyone! This is all about football on TV and CU is one of the top teams in the nation in number of TV games in the last 20 years. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I would be flabbergasted if Baylor wasn't last in the Big 12 all-time in TV appearances.

Before now I've never said anything bad about Baylor in my life, in fact I always felt a little sorry for them, with their joke of a team, their horrible stadium, their butt-ugly uniforms, and for the fact that they have to live in one of the most vile cities in the country (and yes, I've been there). But not anymore, screw you Baylor.

Oh yeah, and keep pushing the whole religious angle as some sort of positive in getting you into the conference. That's brilliant. Moron...

Post all your Baylor hate here.

ha well here's the x-post - maybe a few more reads in here

this is amazing. I don’t wanna get into a back and forth here, but I will anyway cause it’s kinda fun. Frankly I wouldn’t mind staying in the BigXII but for arguments sake here goes:

We can agree that both football programs have been sorry recently, but there’s really no comparison historically. A National Championship, 1 Big XII championship, and 4 Big XII north titles compared to NOTHING for Baylor. No bowl appearances this decade. Baylor hadn’t even won a Big XII road game until 2005! Their best conference record is 3-5.

CU has also had the balls to schedule quality opponents even when they suck. Between 1990 and 2009, CU has played 28 non-conference games against ranked teams. This is at least DOUBLE everyone in the BigXII except Texas(23). Winning half of those is good for the second highest winning % behind Nebraska. Baylor has only played 11 ranked out of conference teams in that time and has won 2 of them.

In addition, CU has always been well televised nationally. Every year the CU-Nebraska game is televised on ABC. Baylor has made it on ABC only twice since 1997. The last three years we’ve had no less than 5 and as many as 6 games on ABC or ESPN. Couldn’t find much other TV info on Baylor, but I suspect it’s not impressive.

On to basketball, nobody is going to argue that CU is a bball powerhouse. We haven’t made the tourney since 03 and haven’t gotten to the 2nd round since Chauncey in 97. Baylor, despite reportedly being vastly superior, made the tourney last year for the first time since losing in the 1st round in 88! I don’t need to mention the scandals since CU has been through its fair share, but at least no one was murdered that I’m aware of.

Women’s basketball at CU, while quite good under Ceal Barry has now fallen off the map. Point Baylor.

I hear about Baylor’s track program being so storied, but according to wikipedia only the Buffs have taken home a Big12 championship this decade. CU also has one of the top men’s and women’s Cross Country teams in the nation almost every year and they have won 5 national championships between them.

We don’t even have baseball/softball teams so that comparison is foolish. Nor do we have men’s tennis (though that was cut fairly recently during my tenure at CU). I think most will agree that giving up skiing as a CU sport is not an option so we’ll have to make due without a baseball/softball team or ideally drop golf.

Oh and the weather comment is ridiculous. I live in Austin now and those games early in the year are BRUTAL. Thankfully most UT games are scheduled late in the evening.

Either way hopefully Texas legislators get sent a few of these facts. Baylor is clearly and understandably desperate. CU is more deserving athletically, culturally and most important-academically. Sorry Baylor. If this prevents the rest of Texas from leaving then so be it. Whew. that was good.

cant wait to see these melvins in boulder....

so we can give them the dirtiest nastiest wooping these uppety bible beaters have ever seen! some nerve! most people in Texas think Baylors a hospital not a school," Your going to Baylor, whats the matter with you? wait …what its a school? hmm… where is it? Waco? really?oh oh….. oh yea i drove through there once….. yea wonder what that brochure looks like? Hmmm EBIO 4031 bible study ENVs 1000 Everythings fine cuz jesus is coming back,hmmmm.. Really… there in the big 12 oh, hmmmm never seen them on the tv….Whats that there 20 years removed from allowing interracial dating and dancing? that sounds like a bastion of higher learning if ive ever heard of one!". here's a repost...baylor is truly our doormat!

i mean bc of that email from the baylor regent… i really really effing hate baylor now. im still trying to figure out how they are vastly superior to CU in football. we have consistently killed them except for our first year with hawk. they cant even fill up their stadium. They set a record for their stadium in ’06 with 51k and guess when the time before that? 1995! then 1991, 1990 and 1989 and in 1989 they could only get 45,500. seriously no joke: http://www.baylorbears.com/facilities/casey.html

Baylor has won two NCAA titles. In 2004, the men’s tennis team defeated UCLA in the championship game. In 2005, the Baylor Lady Bears basketball team beat Michigan State in the championship game.

The one that really pisses me off is that they claim they are better than us academically? we are 77th and they are 80th. but lets dig deeper and look at the grad programs and their research…. how many top 10 grad specialty programs? BU-0, CU-4, top 25? BU-0, CU-12. ok so maybe that was unfair how bout on the research front? oh BU got upgraded to a research university in 2006….how long has CU been a research university? In 2005 BU got asked to collaborate at a National Lab in Illinois… Boulder has NIST, NOAA, NCAR,etc. who all work closely with CU. Ok Baylor… how many Nobel Laureates are there? CU currently has 3…BU 0. I mean CU was where they discovered a new type of matter…last time i checked baylor was the one who was peddling that intelligent design nonsense. So who really sounds more in line academically with Berkley, Stanford, UCLA, UW, and Oregon?

i really hope the pac10 sees through this crap and rethinks any offer to the texas schools. at least baylor isn’t being considered right now (supposedly). They are not even close to a Pac10 type school. either CU and Utah join the Pac10 or Big12 stays together. I look forward to baylor coming to boulder this fall for a thrashing on the field even if we still suck.

Its like.....

when the smallest/weakest/POS player on the other team decides to call YOU out on the field.

Pipe down piss ant Baylor and go back to your righful place in the pecking order of colleges (U of H, UTEP, Tulsa). You’re lucky to even be in the Big 12 in the first place, so just sit your a** down and take a big helping of shutyourdamnmouth.

Not that I have any opinion on this…..

BE AWARE

Baylor actually has a very talented dual threat quarterback and he has some decent receivers.

You guys have to play Baylor in late october… That matchup will have an impact on your date with the Pac-10 lol

CU and Baylor

Being a Cornhusker by Intellegent Design, I wish both schools success in their new conferences. CU had the right to go to the PAC 10 before Baylor. The CU program is much stronger than Baylor’s. Baylor road the coat tails of UT to get into the Big 12 and brought nothing for it. They are by far the biggest poachers I’ve seen. This issue that I just stated was the demise of the Big 12. All of the decisions were based on the Texas teams (mainly UT). If Texas was led by adults, they wouldn’t abandon the Big 12. Just because Nebraska didn’t see eye to eye with Texas and the Big 12, doesn’t mean that Texas has to leave the conference. You can tell that Texas only cares about itself. I will not lose any sleep over leaving the cry babies from Texas to themselves.

Baylor - Is now taking it up the A

Payback is a b—tch, Texas is going to have to go to the Pac-10 with their tails between their legs, Baylor is going to be left playing in some crap conference, like they should of been, years ago. TCU is going to be laughing their ass off, if the MWC, gets KU, KSU, and UM and becomes a BCS conference.
