Former Buff RB Darrell Scott to University of South Florida?
Breaking news that Darrell Scott is headed to the University of South Florida, per his Facebook account -
"Just got a scholly peeps!!!! Your looking at a bull now. USF here I come baby."
Personally, I think it's a shame that it never worked out for him at CU. Do you think he was to blame for being out of shape and moving on, or did the coaching staff mishandle his talents? No matter what, the Buffs will be OK with Lockridge, Speedy, and the new recruits.

Well good luck to him
Hopefully he gets it all worked out mentally and physically.

I wouldn't put it on the CU staff
He didn’t put himself in the best position to succeed, and he quit on his team mid-season. Regardless, good luck to Darrell. I hope things work out for him at USF.
I wasn't a geography major
but I think Florida is just a little farther away from California than Colorado. I might be wrong though…
I’m glad he ended up somewhere decent. It was looking like he was gonna have to play for a FCS team or something. I’ll be keeping an eye on USF to see how he does. Only then can I make my final decision on who’s to blame (like you asked MDBuff). If he tears it up down there that will cement my current feeling that the coaching staff screwed up with him, but if he shows up out of shape and flops then it’ll look like I was wrong.
Anyone hear anything about Sumler?
born in Tallahassee so that is a little connection to Florida
I heard where Sumler plans to attend next year but I can’t remember now. I think he is still planning to transfer…

you're right, forgot about that
and I was making fun of Hawkins (I’m pretty sure he said that he thought Scott was leaving to be closer to home) not Darrell (who never gave a reason why he left as far as I know). Of course it was because he got no playing time…
Lost Talent
Scott showed glimpses, but they were way too brief. I just don’t know that he worked as hard as speedy. Hype out of high school seems overrated for a fair amount of top recruits. I get frustrated with the guys that are way hyped and can’t even make it onto campus for a full year (Katoa). I still remember Marcus Houston. If he hadn’t gotten injured that first year he might have been a different player. That and if Brown/Purify had not come along. I would’ve liked to have seen Polk at RB before he transferred to safety. Ramble ramble
Interesting choice
South Fla.? Change of scenery could do him good. Definitely a loooong way from the Big XII-II. Aren’t they in Conference USA? Didn’t they lose their coach to “Mangino-like” abuse of players allegations? Don’t know who the new coach is but no doubt DScott goes in with little fanfare and minimal expectations. If he regains his HS form, he could dominate that league.
Good luck D.Scott.
good opportunity for him...Big East conference and Skip Holtz is the new coach
