Simas Suspended Indefinitely, Career as a Buff Likely Over
As had been expected, the CU Athletic Department and Dan Hawkins announced tonight that WR Markques Simas has been suspended indefinitely. His scholarship has been pulled but Coach Hawkins left the door open for his return as a walk-on next fall. There's a ton of stuff Simas would have to get through first before he could even get that slim chance. Given his history with the program, he's not likely to see the field again as a Buff. Tough break for the Buffs (Paging Mr. Clemons, Mr. Clemons, you're needed on the deep route!) bad choice, yet again, for Simas. Where does this leave the chances for the Buffs' first winning season for Hawk this Fall? Talk amongst yourselves and here's a link to the CUbuffs.com piece.
From the University of Colorado SID:
BOULDER - University of Colorado junior wide receiver Markques Simas has been suspended indefinitely from the football team, school officials announced Wednesday.
Head coach Dan Hawkins said, "Markques must rectify several matters. If he were to successfully complete a list of several issues, including processes by both the legal system and CU Office of Judicial Affairs, there is a slim possibility he could rejoin the team as a walk-on in the fall."
Simas, who is out of Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, was CU's second leading receiver in 2009, as he caught 43 passes for 585 yards and three touchdowns. After a slow start, the 6-2, 215-pounder caught fire near the end of the season, with 31 receptions for 463 yards in the final four games of the season, setting a school record for the most catches over a four-game span in CU history. His 13.6 average per reception was also a team best last fall.

Don't worry about the WR position
Hawk is actively looking for more walk ons to start at receiver since the 4 star guys never produce for him. If you know of any CU students who are short and slow but who have really good hands, hawk would like to hear from you! It’s all part of the plan, folks! All part of the plan!
whatever....
not really sure what to say. Hope Simmons is working his ass off this off season.
It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity of some people
Simas has long term prison sentence written all over him.
