Former Seahawks Assistant Robert Prince Named Wide Receiver Coach at Colorado
Rumor has it that Dan Hawkins is bringing current Seattle Seahawks WR Coach Robert Prince to coach WRs at the University of Colorado. Prince previously coached at Fort Lewis College and was on the Boise St. staff from 2001-2003. He participated in Bill Walsh's minority coaches program before joining the Boise St. staff. He has coached roughly 7 or 8 seasons in the NFL with the 49ers, Chargers, Jaguars, Falcons and Seahawks. Hopefully he brings an NFL prospective to the team and helps a solid group of WRs become the best of the Big 12. Hopefully someone will be able to throw to them consistently!
Here is what Kyle Ringo had to say from the Boulder Daily Camera (update - irish1611):
Hawkins has hired Robert Prince as an assistant coach, sources confirmed to the Camera on Thursday. The school has not announced the hiring because all the necessary paperwork is not complete, but Prince has visited campus in Boulder.
Prince is well-traveled, most recently spending last season with the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League. He coached wide receivers for the Jacksonville Jaguars for two years before that and broke into the NFL as a full-time assistant with the Atlanta Falcons from 2004 to 2006, where he crossed paths with new CU secondary coach Ashley Ambrose.
Prince, who is married with three children, is familiar with Colorado. He served as an assistant coach for two seasons at Fort Lewis College in the mid-1990s.
He previously served as an assistant coach under Hawkins for three seasons at Boise State (2001-03). Prince is the fourth member of the CU staff to have served under Hawkins in Boise, joining defensive coordinator Ron Collins, special teams and tight ends coach Kent Riddle and defensive line coach Romeo Bandison, all of whom has been at CU the past four seasons.

Yep
I had meant to post something about that but I haven’t gotten a chance. I did retweet something that said it was happening though.

Now Hawk has no excuses to give us when question the PT
of our bigger name recievers like Clemons, etc
PT? Physical toughness? Playing time?
Seems like he skips around a lot. Maybe that is somewhat expected as a positions coach in this day and age, but just saying.
Always good to have some NFL experience around! I think we have some real talent/potential at WR this year, so it could certainly be a strength this year.
I like that both Ambrose and Prince have
NFL experience especially at the WR and DB positions.

If he sticks around
I think the NFL experience could prove a weapon in recruiting. Every D1 player has dreams of playing on Sundays and Prince can help them get there.
