4* Colorado Prep Ath Danny Spond Chooses Notre Dame over Colorado
From SI.com:
Colorado athlete Danny Spond has committed to Notre Dame, following an official visit to South Bend this past weekend. One of the top athletes in the nation, Spond is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com and is one of the most exciting players to hail from Colorado in recent years. Spond has the versatility and frame to project as a linebacker, tight end, wide receiver or even potentially grow into a pass-rushing defensive end.
In addition to the Fighting Irish, Spond's finalists included TCU and Stanford. Spond will be given his choice of position at Notre Dame, but he expects the coaching staff to place him where he best fits at the next level.
"Coach Kelly told me that I will be given a chance to play any position that I would like," Spond said. "At the same time, I will do what it takes for the better of the program wherever it is, and I trust in the coaches putting me wherever they feel is the best."

The freaking Irish
Almost as bad as losing him to the Cornsuckers, I hope he does well.

Silver Lining?
I really think the administration believed things would blow over in the off season and the preseason optimism would return. After the dust settles later this week after what amounts to a mediocre recruiting class and getting shut out of the top ten in state recruits the administration eyes will be wide open. I imagine the anger that so many fans felt towards the end of this last season will again resurface and Bohn will be under a tremendous amount of pressure to do something.
I think you are giving the Adminstration too much credit
As much as I’d like to believe the Adminstration dislikes getting shut out of the top 10 Colorado recruits, I’m betting they could care less. That has been the attitude this Admin has taken over the past few seasons, so why would this instance be any different.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m personally am excited to have the new set of Buffs signing up and I think there are probably some under the radar players coming on board, but being shut out of any highly rated (4 or 5 stars) clearly shows where we currently stand in the pecking order of major college programs.
Go Buffs

I hear you
I just think there is going to be a ton of pressure on the administration coming from both the fans and the press.
It really doesn't matter at this point........
Hawk will get at least one more year. Regardless of how much pressure is exerted by the press or the fan base.
I really don't think they care
I think the admin. has taken the attitude that they know best and the peon fans have no idea what they are talking about. The univesity thinks that the college experience doesn’t need to include a competitive athletic program, at the cost of education. They won’t get it until each and every alumni cuts the university off completely financially.
I'll go...
and yell “accountability” and “road wins” and “Special Teams” every minute or so. Who’s in? ;)

I can't even look at the TV anymore when they show Hawkins on the side lines I have to just turn away
I can’t imagine what my reaction would be if I saw him in person.
