Crazy Coaching Choices
I have read all the blogs and posts about who should be the next coach for CU, while I really like Troy Calhoun and I think we would be getting a great young coach if we do, I understand the arguements against him. And pretty much every coach (unless we got a big name coach in here) would have their share of concerns. From Bieneimy to Logan to bring back coach Mac, everyone is going to have question marks coming in. But what if, what if CU actually showed some balls and went out and got a big name, and I am not talking Nick Saben or Mike Shanahan. But what if they got Tony Dungy?
Look, maybe it would be an extreme longshot, but I think Bohn could sell him on this job. I know coach Dungy retired from the NFL, but I think this could be the type of oppurtunity he would relish.
He would be coming in and could work with coach Mac as far as molding young men, something Tony Dungy and coach Mac are passionate about. He would have the ability to attract top assistant coaches who want to work and learn under Tony Dungy. And he would have a lower stress environment than the NFL. And I think being involved at the college level would be something coach Dungy would really enjoy.
I don't know if Bohn would be able to sell him, but I would bet coach Mac and Bohn could sell him on the idea. If CU wants to be great again, we need to hire great people to lead the program.

I've always thought
that CU should be an easy sell for a coach. There are a lot of selling pts about CU-Boulder. I’d be interested in giving Dungy interviews, but it’s so speculative at this pt. If Dungy expresses interest, get him in here for an interview.
Bellotti...
comes with Jeff Tedford his old OC when he gets ousted from Cal. Or, Bobby Hauck comes if Colorado wants to gamble on a younger coach. I think I may win the lotto before Colorado gets Dungy…. but theres still a chance.
Dungy
Dungy was asked by Minnesota, his alma mater, to come and coach…and he declined. So there is no way that he is going to want to come and coach CU
I say we go after a proven winner, but not one who’s a household name. If we can find that “diamond in the rough”, I think we’ll be good and trust me when I say they’re all over college football.

How about...
Dave Christensen? His offenses have killed us over the last few years. He may be 2-6 this year but his losses are to Texas, Boise, TCU, Utah, BYU, and Air Force. I mean that is a crazy schedule and seeing as the Missouri offense was his toy when he was there it could be fun to get him in Boulder.
