Brian Lockridge To Undergo Season Ending Surgery

Kyle Ringo has reported that Buffaloes running back Brian Lockridge will under go season ending surgery after sustaining an injury against Missouri.

In order to find some depth at the running back position after the injury to Lockridge and Justin Torres leaving the program, sophomore wide receiver Will Jefferson will be moving to running back, a position that he played in high school. True freshman running back Tony Jones will be the emergency running back if needed.

/sigh

Dan Hawkins says Brian Lockridge will undergo season-ending surgery and wide receiver Will Jefferson is moving to tailbackless than a minute ago via web

Also, of note from the press conference is news on Anthony Perkins and the kicking situation:

Safety Anthony Perkins is expected to miss the rest of the season, further weakening an already thin secondary. Expected to compete for the job are Jered Bell, Terrel Smith, Deji Olatoye and Arthur Jaffee.

Finally, Hawkins said that walk-on kicker Marcus Kirkwood will attempt the first field goal or extra point this weekend against Baylor.

Has this what it has come down to

I mean how many scholarships have we wasted on kickers, now we are having walk-ons. Hell I can make a 30 yard FG 8 out f 10 times, I have eligibility, give me a call Dandy Dan. PS I will block for you also, no extra charge.

Clean out the entire coaching staff

Why in the HELL you are not play Hildreth at RB….. Adonis or any other Colorado prospect will never go to CU at a skill position…. I will use all the influence I have.. Will Jefferson at RB… Get a life… I hope you lose all the rest of your games…..

This was a very depressing article

So I guess Perkins got hurt when he and Polk smashed into each other? That sucks… I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Seems like more mismanagement of our kickers by this staff. Castor is on scholarship, they pull his redshirt to make one attempt, it gets blocked, and now apparently he’s done. Now the job belongs to the walk-on soccer player. What a waste of a year of eligibility! Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they pulled Goodman, but shouldn’t they of let Kirkwood or even Grossnickle have the first attempt to take the job?

I hear they are considering letting Cody try kicking too!!

Apparenly he feels its no problem being kicking while also still being the pinner. He said its all about flexibility and that is something he has been working on.

Sucky thing is, this would actaully produce about the same results as we currently get.
