It's the saddest time of the year for me now, right after bowl season is over.  Just kidding.  Well, only kind of...  I still have some topics I want to discuss, I'll throw this post up and maybe we can talk about them here in the off-season (or not, whatever you guys want). 

First of all, what do you all think about Tuberville at Tech? It doesn't surprise me that McNeal didn't get the job. He seems like a helluva nice guy and the players really seem to like him, but I don't know, just watching that bowl game he looked totally out of his element and in over his head whenever they showed him on the sideline (which was like every 5 seconds). Will McNeal stick around or is he ticked off now? If he leaves I think that'll hurt their recruiting (and perhaps cause some transfers as well).

But the big story of the day has to be Pete Carroll. First of all I can't really understand him leaving. He is an absolute god at USC and I really doubt he'll have that much success in Seattle. For me personally if I had job at an elite college program where I has making huge money and had 100% control I would never leave. More importantly this is going to have a HUGE effect on USC (no duh, right?). But more than a lot of people think. USC has certainly been an elite program under Carroll but USC is not like Texas, OU, Florida, Bama, Ohio State, etc. in that they DO NOT have elite-level fan support or elite-level facilities, and the campus is smack dab in the middle of the ghetto. I foresee a very rapid drop off for USC.
