Dropped Out: Notre Dame (#13), Florida State (#20), North Carolina (#21), Missouri (#23)

Next five teams:  Arizona, North Carolina, Missouri, West Virginia, Pitt

Alright, I can admit when I'm wrong.  You guys were right, Notre Dame was too high.  Thoughts on this week's rankings?  (Note, ignore the change from last week, it is calculating off of the first week's poll for some reason.

I still think Notre Dame is a pretty good team

They dominated that first half, had a bad third quarter and ran into a buzz saw that is Tate Forcier. A few questionable calls at the end of the game might be what Weiss is hit with this week but if they don’t lose Michael Floyd and didn’t have to play former Buff recruit Shaq Evans, they win that game. Clausen threw a great pass to Evans that the freshman didn’t get his head around on that would have ended the game.

I was very impressed with the Irish offense, Notre Dame needs to clean up special teams play but I think you can expect them to be back in the top 25 soon enough. Still a good team IMO.

Like where you have Cincy…they look filthy

Not buying that Arizona is #26…tried to sneak that one in there didn’t you.

USC, Penn State, LSU and Alabama all won but I wasn’t really impressed by any of them. Jahvid Best is a beast, yes played bad competition so far and Cal is notorious for late season collapses but they might be explosive enough to give USC a run for their money.

Excited to see Nebraska actually play someone this week in Virginia Tech. See what Zac Lee has.

Haha

I actually had Zona at 25 until I realized that I had forgotten Houston. Their defense dominated the CMU team that just beat Michigan State. If they go into Iowa and win then they deserve to be ranked.

Im really pumped for the Cincy @ Oregon State game this weekend. I think I like Cincy in that one.

Don't let Iowa be your gauge for Arizona...UNI, UNI, UNI

Still don't get the hype around Cal

I think they are good but i think more like 13-15 than #8.

Hope you’ll jump the Canes after this week, I think they will handle GT

I hope so.

I want them to be 3-0 when they play OU

Houston?

Ok, I have to admit I did not see any of the Ok. St.-Houston game so I can’t talk that much, aside from pointing out that I was dead on the money last week with my criticism of Ok. St. and saying they were way over-hyped at #5. That being said, considering I don’t think much of Ok. St. right now and still see them as pure hype, I am probably not buying that Houston deserves to be Top 25 for beating them.

Miami-GT should be interesting. Was at the Ga. Tech game on Thursday and I have to say that their pass defense is extremely shaky at best, so I imagine Miami will be able to throw up some serious points on them this Thursday. Don’t know that Tech can get as many breaks this week though so I go with Miami there. For GT the option is not running on all cylinders nearly as much as it was last year.
