07 NY Giants Parallels

Story

I remember 2 years ago Die Hard  NY Giants fans of 50 years were hoping they lost the last 8 games of the season so Tom Coughlin would get fired.  It was that bad trust me, my family has season tickets on the 6 yard line.  They had a kid named Eli at QB that was scared and looked liked he was still going through puberty.  Funny thing is he threw balls that sailed through the air just like OUR kid Cody Hawkins, getting receivers crushed every Sunday.  Long story short they won the rest of their games (covered the spread too) including the Super Bowl, Coach Coughlin is headed to the Hall of Fame, and everyone is back on the bandwagon.

I know Dan Hawkins didn't forget how to coach.  That speech in 07 calling out the players and their families saying, "this is the big 12 brotha" really made me a believer that this was the guy.  I was about to lead a rebellion after that loss last week, I was sick to my stomach.  The question is now:  Do we hope Colorado goes 2-10 so Hawk gets fired, or do we have faith in OUR team, and OUR school, and hope they can pull off a NY Giants like comeback to win the big 12 this year?

where is the option 11-1 and Hawk gets fired?

The difference between the teams is using playmakers, and maybe actualy having playmakers. The giants had the best pash rush in the league and a killer running game. The Buffs have no pass rush and may have a killer run game but we’ll never know because we refuse to give them the ball. Also, lets not forget the Giants had great deep threat sin Toomer and Burress, the buffs may have deep threats in Simas and Simmons, but again we’ll never know because we are only capable of throwing 5 and outs, and can only do that at less than a 60% completion rate.

Ohh and I would trade Cody for Eli Manning any day of the week.

Wow! What is with the Hnida-blast-from-the-past photo?

Was the CSU game so bad its making you conjure images from the dark days that resulted in the Hawkins hire? What’s next, are you going to channel Rick Reilly circa 2004? Wtf?
