Videos of Reported Buff Basketball Commit G Shannon Sharpe

It hasn't been confirmed by any Denver media based papers but according to pe.com, G Shannon Sharpe will be wearing the black and gold next year for Jeff Bzdelik. From an earlier post:

According to pe.com:

Former Corona Centennial basketball standout Shannon Sharpe will be attending Colorado, Huskies coach Josh Giles said by phone Wednesday afternoon.

Sharpe was an all-Riverside County first-team selection as a senior in 2008, averaging 17.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists. He played at a prep school this past season.

Pretty impressive rebound numbers for a 6'0" guard, more information to follow:

Here is his 2008 rivals profile.
MaxPreps Stats Page
Article on Sharpe in the LA Times. Doesn't look like he had a great junior year but came on late his senior year. He was a 2008 recruit.
Sharpe lost both of his parents before 2007 to heart failure

Here are some videos:

hmm...

I’m interested to hear more about this. We weren’t recruiting him and he had a bunch of scholarship offers from other schools (none from any BCS teams) yet he ends up with us months later? What happened? I didn’t know we even had any scholarships left.

He certainly looks very athletic and I like his name too. Maybe I can break my orange old color-scheme Shannon Sharpe jersey out of the back of the closet and wear it to a buffs game now :-)

our connection to that area is odd

Sharpe and Devin Head are both Centennial kids, Bernard Jackson went to Santiago, Nate Viaomounga and MTM are Corona kids as well. And Richard Roby is from San Bernardino (another shithole in the same area).

CU should start recruiting Chino and Riverside (Kawhi Leonard from ML King would’ve been nice this year) and Redlands. Those guys would love to see scenery that isn’t tire fires and abandoned strip malls.

On a side note- Gabe York, freshman guard from Orange Lutheran and Josh Cook, freshman guard from Mater Dei. Begin enticement…. NOW

Very athletic kid, not sure how he fits in with the style coach Bzedlik likes

hopefully he doesn’t get wind of it and run back to Cali.
