"I think another year would make me a lot more known around the football community, I guess, with like a lot more hype going into the season," Smith said. "Things that would make me leave is if they said I would go first or second round, then of course I would leave. That`s a no-brainer."

Smith was named second team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press this season after playing in all 12 games for the Buffs and finishing as the fifth leading tackler on the team with 70 total stops. He intercepted two passes with a forced fumble and fumble recovery and finished the season with10 pass breakups.

Those are likely not the numbers of a first- or second-round selection, but Smith is already considered a strong candidate to be drafted because of his size (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) and his athleticism.

NFLDraftScout ranks Smith as the 42nd best cornerback in the 2011 class with nine other Big 12 defensive backs rated ahead of him.

Agreed

He did have a half-dozen+ TD -saving plays last year. You would expect that as a senior, he’d improve on that and potentially be a “shutdown” type of CB.

Would likely be preseason all Big XII first teamer.

Really hope that he stays

But he is right, if you get a chance at 1st or 2nd round then you have to take it. I doubt that he will be slotted that high.
Anyone else hear about the NCAA investigating Tennessee over the use of the “hostesses?” I’ve already heard/read two instances where they references CU’s “scandal” in regards to what is going on at Tennessee One was the terrible ESPN show “Pardon The Interruption,” but still, I hate how this stuff just hangs over our heads waiting to be brought up whenever some school gets into trouble – it just will not die.

The athletic department can't tell their employees what to do with their free time

There’s nothing to the Tennessee “scandal,” just like there was nothing to ours. The Vols will come out of it better, though, because they’ve got an entire state backing them. Whereas we have students, alums, and kids of alums..

It's surprising that he would be the 42nd rated d-back in the draft

But even if that’s only a tad true, how would go in the first or second round? I think the consensus is that a senior season would bring Smith to the next level. He’s an awesome player and I hope we can see him in Black and Gold for one more season.
