Summarizing what Gary Barnett said on AM 1510 the Score this morning:

He was asked the question: If Dan Hawkins is fired, what should be the profile of the next head coach?

Barnett's answer: He thinks a former player or former coach should be the next head coach if Hawkins is let go. CU has too many PR problems right now and they need to bring everyone back in the fold (former players, coaches, boosters). Barnett says the program needs stability and familiarity.

Barnett did not name any names. Shapiro & Armstrong ran down the list and couldn't peg anyone that would be a slam dunk under that former player or former coach designation.

Talked a little about current Minnesota Vikings RB coach and former Buffs RB Eric Bieniemy but Barnett thinks you might need to be at least a coordinator before being a bead coach.
