Little tidbit on CSU recruiting
Just saw that CSU picked up another commitment so I decided to look at their class
Just amazing to me that CU doesn't expand to recruit other sections of the US when CSU currently has recruits from the following states:
1 CO
1 TX
1 CA
4 FL
Now although they aren't the highest *'s or whatever, just interesting that CSU has reached out and made a serious commitment to recruit CSU when CU hardly touches TX.

Well, I think CU wants to do better in Texas, however, they have a hard time
going head to head for guys against other Big 12 schools in that state, CSU has some impressive numbers in Florida, which is somewhere where CU never seems to be able to recruit. We will see if Denver Johnson can actually come through with some Texas kids, since he has some ties to that state and he says he knows the HS coaches.

A bit risky for CSU...
Although I totally see your point about CSU making a concerted effort to recruit Florida, I do think it is a risky endeavor for them. It has been shown that although “stars” aren’t imperative to creating a good college player, but it sure helps. Three-plus star recruits generally outperform the two and one star recruits. It seems to me like CSU is maybe trying too hard to get into Florida while potentially ignoring regional prospects, their bread and butter. A good example to me is Seth Lobato who looks like he could be a competitor at QB for CU. He walked on at CU yet wasn’t offered a scholarship from CSU which is only 45 minutes from home when CSU complained all off-season about having no QBs? CSU also looks like they haven’t offered a number of regional players scholarships that CU is pursuing which seems weird to me. I agree that CU needs to continue to try and recruit the south (Shields was a big time prep player in TN I believe) but I also think CU should continue to cultivate its roots in CA, TX, and HI while holding onto CO and the Rocky Mountain west (seem to be losing this battle to KU, Utah, Stanford, Nebraska, etc.). Is it better to go for the best players in your traditional recruiting grounds and region or go for the under the radar southern players and hope they make a big impact due to experience and raw athletic ability?
