Very well played game by the Buffs
Big Story will obviously be Hansen – the guy made plays with his feet and avoided sacks like a champ. 1 pick and 1 fumble, but he should get a lot of the credit.
I think Speedy has separated himself from the other RBs – he makes people miss and never gives up
Rush D was AWESOME too (might go somewhat unnoticed though).
Pass D rush was ok – frequently only 3 guys rushing – caused a big sack/fumble in first half
Pass D coverage was also OK – KU is really strong here and we did a decent job, especially as we were in a prevent on the last drives of each half
Special teams was good – Goodman 2-2, DScott looks good returning kicks – we didn’t give up blocked punt and didn’t allow a long PR or KR

Punt returning
and kick returning are completely different animals. Kick returning allows you to get a running start before engaging any possible defenders and the vision Scott uses as a RB plays a huge role in his success. Punt returning is more about quicks than speed, imo, because you don’t often get that running start and have to use creativity and elusiveness to pick up the majority of those yards. I don’t think those traits are where Scott excels as a runner.

I have to dissagree about the special teams. Before the fake punt I actually said out loud – in my living room by myself – watchout for the fake punt. If I can sense that possibility why can’t coach Riddle? I cannot remember a game in the past 3-4 years where there has not been a poor special teams play (or two, or three, or four, or etc). Enough is enough, get rid of Riddle!

Also, Espy muffed puffed punt and should have probably called a fair catch on one where he didn’t.
And while KU didn’t do anything from a PR standpoint, DiLallo didn’t exactly boot them.

Still Need more production from receivers
Speedy dropped that deep pass after that fantastic Hansen scramble, same with Sumler. Sure would like to see some quick slant pass plays to Simas, Wright, Jefferson. Get them in space see if they can make some big plays. I saw those 3 but no Simmons sightings tonight.
