Buffzone: Dan Hawkins Does QB Flip-Flop, says both Tyler Hansen and Cody Hawkins Could Play
Hawkins said today during his lunchtime press conference that it's possible both quarterbacks could play Saturday.
"He's still going to have a role, and I think there is a very good chance you could see both of them," Hawkins said. "They will both be ready to go."
Like I said in the comments of the story below, this is a pretty shocking development. Hopefully, it is a ploy to make Kansas prep for both quarterbacks, eventhough that doesn't make a lot of sense. I am sure they gave Hansen some guarantees if he were to remove the redshirt and play this year. I have to assume this is a cat and mouse game but if they wanted to do that, they should have left Cody in the whole game against Texas and then brought out Hansen unexpectedly against Kansas.
Once again we have coaches and players saying different lines. Offensive Coordinator Coach Kiesau after the Texas game:
"I don`t want to get into the back and forth, back and forth or having packages," offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau said. "I want to have a guy. I want the team to see that, and right now, today, Tyler is our guy."
Dan Hawkins today:
"He’s still going to have a role, and I think there is a very good chance you could see both of them," Hawkins said. "They will both be ready to go."
Never a dull moment in Buff land. Tyler Hansen needs to get a full vote of confidence from Dan Hawkins, not having to worry that one bad throw and he will be pulled in favor of Cody. If the Buffs do indeed rotate quarterbacks this weekend, I can't imagine how hot the seat will get and what the reaction at Folsom will be on national television.

Cody must have cleaned his room...
so Coach Dad is pleased and may let him play.

For the Wild Cat....
type of play where we see both on the field at the same time, but Hanson will be “the QB”?
Its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

OK
this is the only valid reason I’ve yet heard about why Cody should play.

If Cody plays a substantial amount at QB Saturday
I’m gonna have to drop Coach Hawk as a facebook friend.

Was Hawk still on the Novacaine from the dentist visit?
Way to get behind your new QB coach! Real boost of confidence for Hansen going into the Kansas game! If I wasn’t a Browns fan I might say that Hawkins is the worst handler of QBs in all of football.
Look, unless Hansen just plays terrible football all around I believe you have to give him the rest of the season to see what he can do going forward. Go BUFFS!

As stated after the WV game...
I still think we may win this game Saturday. However, it will definitely be in spite of Dan Hawkins.

I hope Tyler Hansen just lights it up Saturday
I mean flat out dominants, 75+ yards on the ground 225+ in the air, a couple touchdowns and leads the Buffs to a victory. That is the only way we get this thing settled down and moving in the right direction.

going to be tough if they are alternating each posession
I think that is everyone’s biggest nightmare.

I'm just gonna pretend I didn't see this post
If Tyler has one bad series or throw and Cody comes strolling onto the field my head is going to explode.
Cody’s “role” had better be back up QB and the only place I’d better “see” him is standing on the sideline with a headset on. Let’s hope that is what Dan meant.

If Coach Kiesau
on Friday comes out and says “Tyler Hansen has had his best week of practice ever as a Buffalo”, we can look for Cody to start and Hansen will play maybe 4 plays in the Kansas game.

nice use of the Darian Hagan logic for playing players! Darrell Scott was really able
to show that he had his best week of practice before the Texas game.
