Tracy Moore and Terrell Williams

A few weeks ago this talented duo visited Boulder and while they aren't considered a package deal some interesting things have developed with regards to Moore.  Now I may be reading into things too much but here's what we know.

Tracy Moore had planned to announce his college choice tonight.  He reported a final three of Kansas, Oklahoma State and Colorado and it has been widely speculated that he was OSU bound.  However he has at the last minute cancelled his announcement with no immediate plans to reschedule.

Here is where this could be good for the Buffs.  Today Kansas recieved two somewhat sudden announcements from big recievers that would likely have filled the spots they had open for the position.  Despite being listed as a tight end Kansas had planned on using Moore as a big reciever.  With regards to Oklahoma State they have had two coaches leave since the season has ended and it appears it wasn't on good terms.  In short the rumor is there is dissention in the ranks in Stillwater.  Either way it could be the case that Moore was prepared to announce for one of those two and with the changes in the last couple of days has felt the need to reevaluate his decision.

Again most of this is speculation but it is interesting that there has been a sudden change of plans and with the change in circumstances at KU and OSU maybe CU is in a really good postion for Moore.  If that's the case they may also be in an excellent position for Williams.  Time will tell but this time of year is always fun.

Further good news is that Oklahoma State

has a similar player to Moore who just signed. Their are two other Union High players that may join Moore and Williams if they come as they are all pretty close friends. Getting a pipeline started in this school would be huge as Union is a perennial powerhouse.

The Buffs could use a TE/big WR as most of their TE’s are upperclassmen with only Deehan being the underclassmen.

This whole situation keeps changing quickly...

it now appears that he will announce on the 25th of January and has said he will be taking his official visit to Kansas on that same weekend. Not sure what to make of it, I really thought now that KU picked up Omigie and McGriff they wouldn’t go for a third but it appears they may still be getting one more crack at him. Should be interesting seeing how this thing turns out, I’m not sure what to think after the last few days.

Buff Tight ends

Isn’t Ryan Wallace, who red-shirted last year, still with the Buffs? He was gonna take the year to bulk up and get adjusted. He’s got good skills and speed/size. Should be a nice compliment to Deehan, Devenny and Geer.

The thing with Moore...

is he has a lot more athleticism than your typical TE. I think a lot of teams envision him more in the way that Missouri used both Rucker and Coffman in years past, basically oversized receivers.

If we are going to continue to run a spread and try the no huddle

Players like this huge. Look at the mismatches OU is able to get by moving Gresham all over the field.

Gresham, Coffman, Rucker...

in the pro game the Broncos use guys like Scheffler, Jackson and even recently Graham in the same way…your absolutely right this creates problems all over the place for a defense. As teams try to combat the spread they are moving to smaller faster LB/SS types if you can throw a guy like this out there…ouch…

Kind of out of the blue...

Arkansas is running down on openings and I think he felt the need to jump on it…my guess is while chances are slim, Hawkins isn’t closing the door yet.

There was a lot...

of speculation that somebody leaked the info early…thought being that he was a heavy Arkansas lean but wasn’t ready to commit and then when the report came out felt somewhat compelled or pressured to confirm.

Rumblings out there that Tracy Moore...

might be waivering on his decision…for my money if he changes his mind I’d bet he’s Colorado bound.

I wonder if that has anything to do with Simon, are they friends?

They definitely know eachother but...

I don’t think one has anything to do with the other

Don't get too excited.

Here are Tracy’s quotes on facebook. He may be wavering but doesn’t seem to be looking at CU. He has has some pretty funny banter with Shaun Simon though.

“Tracy is IM sooo lost! feb 4th and im stilll not 100% but its hard to leave. " (Jan 25)
"buffs are weak.lol” (Jan 28)
“haha buffs. 12th in the big 12.lol no bowl game.lol just snow.lol” (Jan 28)

Haha, I don’t think there was malice behind what he was saying him and Shaun Simon were just representing their schools, so don’t take it the wrong way.

Hey at least Shaun is pumped…
