So some may see this post as a little silly, but I think it will let some people get some things off their chest and have fun at the same time.
If you woke up one day and had the power to change College Football however you like, what would you do? Pretty much you become Dictator for life of College Football.
Here is what I would impose on the College Football world:
-All 6 BCS conferences must have 12 teams, no divisions, and the teams with the top two records play each other in a conference championship game. Each team gets two “rivalry” games within the conference that they play every year and the rest of the conference schedule rotates accordingly (i.e. Michigan would still play Ohio St. and Mich St. every year but everybody else within the conference would rotate). I would force Notre Dame to join the Big 10. The Big East could have there pick of any number of mid major teams but for now lets put Ball St., S. Illinois, Buffalo, and Rice in there, I am not much of an east coast guy but I didn’t think it would make sense putting BYU in the Big East. I would place Coloardo (and this probably going to create some controversy) in the Pac 10 with Utah. I would then put TCU in the Big 12. I have always thought CU and the city of Boulder had more of a Pac-10 feel. Plus for selfish reasons I would much rather take a road trip to LA, Tempe, and Seattle, then Lubbick, Aims, and Waco.
-Playoffs will be instituted. All 6 BCS conference winners will be invited and the top two remaining teams. 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, and so on. Note if you don’t win your conference you are no higher than the #7 seed. The games would be played at existing bowl sites with the top ranked team picking which site they want to play at and so on.
-I would keep the 12 game regular season (4 non-conference, 8 conference), but I would stipulate that division II teams cannot be scheduled, each team must have 6 home games and 6 road games, and a minimum of 2 of your non-conference games must be against other BCS schools.
That sums up what I would change. What do you think of what I propose and what would you propose if it you had the opportunity?
