I Can't Keep Up: Colorado Lands Fourth Commit of the Day, DE J Forrest West

Wow, so much for worrying about recruiting numbers. Before the day, it was 11, now the Buffs are up to 15. Lucky number 15, according to rivals.com's commitment list,  is a DE from Connecticut by the name of J Forrest West. He is relatively unknown because he was injured his junior year. The last time we had an unknown come in late into the process, his name was Rodney Stewart. If we went all the way to Connecticut on this one, he must have some upside and potentially addresses a major need a weakside speed rusher.

Again congrats to the staff and West for joining the Buffs...let's get to that QB often JWest.

 J. Forrest West
Rivals Star Rating - **
DE - Salisbury, CT - Salisbury High School
Recruiting Sites: Rivals - Scout - ESPN.com
Measurables: 6'2" 225lbs
Rankings: NR
Other offers and interests - Penn State, UConn, Maine, Boston College

Commentary: I didn't find video of Forrest until today but he does pass the eye test. He is under the radar because he tore his pectoral muscle his junior year and couldn't play a down. He does have a good amount of interest from Penn State and Boston College. He runs a 4.8 forty so he has decent speed for a weakside end. I can't imagine that CU would recruit a prospect in Connecticut without him having some talent and a valuable asset at the next level. He is quoted as saying that his strength is getting to the quarterback which is something the Buffs need. When I get more information, I will pass along. He is also a basketball player.

Here is some video of Forrest. I particularly like the highlight of him chasing down the running back about 45 yards down the field!

Nice work by the Buffs

finding this gem. He looks like a playa’ ! Good motor, speed and power at point of impact. Notice how everyone he hits goes backwards (or sideways)! Nice pick up if he’s healthy.
My new fav sleeper.
