Around SBN: Tiger Woods Makes His 2012 PGA Tour Debut

I will not even write off Nick Kasa. Crazy things happen in recruiting and you never know.

Things just got a little bit better Buff fans. Now lock up Nuckols, Jackson and one other surprise and 2009 is already off to a great start.

Here is the Rivals.com link to Nick Kasa's free player profile page. Click it and love it Buff fans!

It's not over until Feb 4th, but the Buffs are in a good spot obviously.

More good news possibly coming tonight

Wow!

What a great job by Hawkins and his staff. Question Hawk’s gameday ability all you want, but the guy is one of the best, if not THE BEST, in the business at building relationships with recruits. Awesome news!

Definitely one of

and the way he’s keeping our top in-state guys here is becoming huge.

Nick K

What’s the news? Just that there are rumors circulating?

by buffalo2000 on Jan 11, 2009 2:30 PM MST reply actions

Great news

Ahhh…NICE!!! I saw there were some grumblings but hadn’t seen anything official. Great job by Hawkins and his staff! Go Buffs!

by buffalo2000 on Jan 11, 2009 2:38 PM MST up reply actions

Holy shit.

After being right the whole time about this kid, I am absolutely THRILLED to be wrong all of a sudden.

I am Jack's unbridled optimism.

Unreal

That’s just amazing news. I was obviously hoping he’d switch his commitment to the Buffs, but wasn’t really expecting him to do so. Maybe this will create some momentum and convince other guys to finally commit to the Buffs or reaffirm their existing commitment.

On a slightly different note, I was thinking earlier today that a weaker recruiting class could end up providing some great motivation for the 2009 team. Just think of all the bulletin board material the coaches could pull from the current slate of articles and comments about where the Buffs are heading….

by highlandsbuff on Jan 11, 2009 3:17 PM MST reply actions

Pretty Incredible

Still have a ways to go with this class but this is a huge get. Giving credit to the coaching staff.

Any update on Diante??

by NYCskibum on Jan 11, 2009 3:21 PM MST reply actions

He hasn't responded to any of my texts

that isn’t good as he has been the best recruit to deal with since we have been here as he has always responded quickly.

The good news is I believe Hawkins has an in home with him either this week or two days ago…

I think Diante is gone

I get this feeling like he wants to play at Colorado, but his family wants him at Oregon pretty badly. That’s a really tough spot to put an 18 year old kid in, and the family pressures are likely to win out. He seems like a great kid, though, so no hard feelings and I hope I’m wrong (again), but my hopes aren’t up.

Oh Hell Yes

Man I hope that Hawkins can keep him, you know the Gators will be putting on the pressure, but I love it. Lets’ see some more magic Hawkins!

Just some browsing on Stan McKay

and he’s changed his myspace background to a Chicago Blackhawks one. He also has a personalized note in one of the sections that reads:

"Hay world it Stank McKay

I wanted to know where should I go to college…UCLA, Colorado, Washington, Hawaii, Oregon, USC

Message me the answer."

I was tempted to message him and give him my best CU recruiting pitch, but didn’t know if I would be crossing any boundaries or doing something I shouldn’t, but figured you guys might like to see an update.

yes it can be viewed

as violating ncaa rules. but I think you need to have ties to the university or offer him something to sway his thought process.

Okay

I won’t even bother then. I don’t want to risk anything.

Great pickup for the Buffs...

just curious though, rivals has him listed as a “soft verbal” anything to that.

probably waiting until Kasa comments

ESPN also confirming it

I have waited for this news

all day long. I figured if it was gonna happen it would be sooner than later. Great call irish!! Ithink you might have to start a psychic hotline or something….LOL! I hope this is the beginning of some great things.

HUH-UUGE News

That is really something! Glad they kept in touch with him. Was it that he can start almost immediately at CU, or plans by UF to switch him to the other side of the line? Can’t wait to hear the end of this one.

As far as Diante goes, sounds like he’s really conflicted, but I hope he commits in Feb. Any update? Things are starting to shape up nicely!

Go Buffs!

wow

How much does this shut me and a lot of guys questioning the class as a whole. This adds that one beast to the class that we have gotten every yr. This also shuts me up about keeping the top talent in state. I’ll give up the 5 of 7 best prospects leaving state as long as we get far and away the best prospect.

As long as this holds up, Hawkins has really helped the class with our biggest need pretty much filled. Now I would just like to see some depth around the team to fill out the class. I can’t believe how much one prospect changes my view, I might be more excited about this than D. Scott, well close.

Nuckols commits to CU on Rivalslist of signees

Check it out on Rivals – they list him as a CU commit. Can anyone verify?

rehash of that Friday conversation

Hey, Irish, I wanted to post what you wrote Friday and what I responded.

Just BECAUSE the crystal ball works sometimes. Now we can pat each other on the back and say we never gave up… but neither did a lot of buffs. AWESOME NEWS, Mr. Kasa and Nuckols. You will be dazzling in your black and gold.

by irish1611

Until we hear straight from the horses mouth on this and until National Signing Day comes and goes, I will not write off Diante Jackson from being a Buff. I will not even write off Nick Kasa. Crazy things happen in recruiting and you never know.

by JustmyOp

I’m with you on this.
Anything can happen, and I would be happy to see either/both of them commit/decommit/recommit as many times as they want, as long as they end up where we want them on Feb. 4.

Never hurts to dream big.

So much good news in one day...

That I thought I better check in early Monday to see if anyone else had committed overnight. LOL! I’m serious!

I hope I can take the next 21 days before signing day. Three weeks, man, just three more weeks. I can’t get enough of the Buff’s good news. They say good news comes in threes … Kasa, Nuckols and ???
