Far Fetched Idea, But.........
So I was reading this article, http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3802509, on Shanahan's dismissal and the following quote got my mind racing:
"He also didn't rule out taking a college job."
Now I know it's a long shot, but how about replacing Hawkins with Shanahan? Shanahan's family is in CO and he probably would prefer not to relocate them. It would cost our program a pretty penny, but think of the impact it would have... Talk about an identity on offense. What recruit wouldn't want to play for the Buffs?
Who here has some connections and can make this happen?
P.S. This is a great forum, thanks for all of the hard work. Please keep it up.

We certainly can't get rid of Hawk right now.
But the instant credibility Shanahan brings is next to none.

Yep, its not look anyone is looking down on Shanny for getting fired.
He’s the man, sometimes you just need to bring in the fresh blood (as a Steelers fan I can certainly understand) and if they bring in the right guy it will certainly reinvigorate the program

I saw that and I like that idea
two birds with one stone, getting the broncos a great coach and taking probably the best coach out of the big 12.

haha, I was joking about this (kind of) on the b-ball game thread the other night!
about the money… I was watching some interview with mortensen on espn about coach shanahan and he was saying “he’s getting 7 mil a year from the broncos the next 3 years anyway, so a NFL team can get him cheap.” Not like it’ll ever happen, but I bet if we offered him around 2 mil a year he would seriously think about it. He doesn’t want to leave behind his giant mansion in Denver!
seriously, it’s not gonna happen, but do you think this possibility has even crossed shanahan’s or bohn’s mind? probably not…

Wouldn't have to, he will be making 7 million for the next three years, so I am sure he could be had at a discount

How sweet it would be
If only shanahan was around one more yr in denver and the buffs failed to get 7 wins then this could become a possibility.
