Should be a beautiful day for a game today
Can’t wait to see the new grass at Folsom Field. It is supposed to look really nice right now. Also, Ralphie V will run for the first time today since the crazy run at the spring game. Hopefully that is the hardest work the Buffs will to do today. Go Buffs!

Ill be holding down the fort on TRR. Wisconsin is looking terrible right now. Michigan State is tied with a FCS team. Illinois is struggling against a FCS team. How can the Big 10 possibly be this terrible?

How great would it be if Ohio and Solich somehow pulled out the W (Ohio State hasn’t lost to a team from Ohio since like 1938 or something) and then Ohio State beat USC next week?

Where did Darrell Scott go?
I can’t watch or listen to the game, but Stewart’s production is decidedly average for the level of competition we’re facing, and I’m sure Scott’s power could have made a bigger difference on 4-3 than that missed field goal.
Regardless of the final score, this game goes down as an embarrassment.

Haha, I'm actually using the Yahoo gamecast right now
because ESPN has such a horrible track record. It’s a flashy way to watch a game, but efficient and lacking bugs it is not. CBS had a decent one last year, too, but so far this Yahoo one I’m using is really simple.

Fox' has got up to speed better
but it tends to update in bunches, and it doesn’t list out the plays in the “tracker” part. It beats waiting on ESPN, but it ain’t perfect. I can’t get Yahoo to work without a plug-in I can’t find to enable…

I thought we matched up a little better with WVU

Big East as a whole is overrated
Rather than giving the conference an automatice berth, they should have the Big East regular season winner play the top BCS rated team from one of Conference USA, Mountain West, WAC, or MAC. Call it a Mid Major championship of sorts.

Florida-Miami
with a small side of the local Tulsa-North Texas game. I think Miami will show well for themselves, but come up short. Miami’s D is incredibly fast, big, and talented in the font seven, and I get the sense that the days of undisciplined Miami football is coming to an end.

Personally,
I’d love to see Miami get back to being the program they were in terms of winning. The more good teams there are, the better games are on every weekend. As a fan of the sport in general, I can’t lose there. The more rivalries, hard-hitting, high-intensity games I can get my hands on, the better. Randy Shannon looks like he’s doing a good job whipping those guys into shape. I saw on ESPN today that he doesn’t even talk to his son about football when they aren’t on the field, and rarely talks to him at all when they are on the field. Said “he needs to make it on his own.” Great stuff.

Oklahoma not helping its reputation
of running the score up. Starting O and D still in late in the fourth, offense still passing, D still blitzing.

You guys need to go look at the box score.
They have run the ball exclusively (minus 2 pass plays) with their third string running back for their two drives in the 4th quarter. What else is the guy supposed to do? Take a knee?

Touche.
Looking at the drive summaries, they were running quite a bit. I can’t comment on any defensive blitzing or personnel packages, but they were running their backup running backs quite a bit (except for the passing touchdown on 4th and goal from the 2, which was preceeded a few plays earlier by passes on 1st and 20 and 2nd and 8). Point taken.

Watching the game
Sam Bradford TD pass was when I posted that, already up three scores in the fourth, being blocked for by Williams, Robinson, and Loadholt. Following drive still featured the first team secondary and most the first team front seven.
Bradford only was pulled in the final series for some handoffs to Madu.
No, they don’t have to take knees, but do they need to run a play-action pass on fourth and goal? A run would have been a little more respectful.

I feel for Ole Miss
They had Wake Forest almost beaten, just to watch an ACC team finally find the composure to win a football game. What is there to take from that? Is Houston Nutt changing the culture there in Starkville or was it the result of another ACC team collapsing under the weight of expectations?

More A than B
although to be fair, Orgeron left Nutt a pretty stocked cupboard for a rebuilding process. Jerry is the top rated senior DT by PFW scouts, Oher is ranked second at LT (though considered a top ten talent), and Hardy is an elite young edge rusher. Throw in now eligible transfer Snead, and you’ve got some players.

Also
I realize I may talk a LOT about random non-Buffs stuff, but I don’t really have another place where I can talk college football with people who aren’t completely blinded by their love for the UT Longhorns, so forgive my long ramblings about non-Buffs things.
Also, David, I didn’t realize you were also a Buffs fan/follower. Good to see you around again.

No, its quite alright.
CFB is CFB. Speaking of feeling for teams, how stupid does Washington feel right now for getting that celebration penalty? Im going to be in Seattle for the OU-UW game and I imagine the Husky fans are going to be mighty deflated.

Just saw the replay
should that be excessive celebration? I have more problems with guys getting mouthy or overly demonstrative, but I’ve seen that move several times and just don’t know if that should constitute a penalty, at that point in the game. Do that in the first quarter on a routine run, sure, flag. But do that having just brought your team back in the game with virtually no time left…penalty?
Blocked EP looked like a complete failure to keep the inside push back, though.

yea, i agree. It’s college. How can you penalize them for just celebrating with the team?

Good to hear
I’m looking forward to your game analysis, as I was left mostly in the dark on this one. Particularly, I’m wondering why the running game struggled so much to get in gear.
