CU - CSU Game Sets FSN Viewing Record
According to the Denver Business Journal:
Sunday’s broadcast of the annual football game between the University of Colorado and Colorado State University scored a 12.3 rating in the Denver area, the highest for any regular-season game in any sport on the FSN Rocky Mountain cable channel.
The channel carries many Colorado Rockies games as well as CU football.
An average of 181,000 households watched some portion of the game, which CU won 38-17, making it the highest-rated show in the Denver market on any station Sunday, FSN announced Tuesday.
Sunday’s matchup was also the highest-rated college football game ever for FSN Rocky Mountain, which regularly carries the CU-CSU game.
The previous high was an 11.3 rating for the 2004 CU-CSU contest. Last year’s game scored a 9.6 rating.
“Ratings” means the percentage of all television households in a market that are tuned to a given program. In the Denver area, one ratings point equals about 14,700 households.
The game also registered a 23 “share.” Share refers to the percentage of TV sets in use that are tuned to a program.
According to the channel, the highest-rated game in FSN Rocky Mountain’s history was Game 7 of the Western Conference finals between the Colorado Avalanche and the San Jose Sharks on May 15, 2002, which carried a 17.7 rating.
The channel no longer carries Avalanche games.

Thats good to hear
but am I the only one who wishes the Big 12 would get a TV deal with ESPN? FSN’s broadcasts are awful most of the time. The ABC games are fine (which are produced by ESPN) but Fox Sports doesn’t do a good job at all with football.
How did we end up with the WVU game getting the Thursday night ESPN slot anyway? The Big East has a deal with ESPN but we are the home team so shouldn’t our TV guys of gotten it? (Not that I’m complaining, it’s awesome)

The Big 12...
has 5 Top 25 teams arguably the 2nd best conference in the country behind the SEC and what I would consider one of the worst TV contracts…I would love to see a new deal and the Big 12 needs to flex some muscle and get it done

That or get their own Big 12 network like the Big 10 has
I am definitely sick of the TBS/FSN telecasts.

That would be great
Being stuck on the west coast, it’s rare to get to see the Buffs other than national games, but I did get to see the CU-CSU game, I thought fox did a good job, but I agree, most of their broadcasts are poor at best.

That would be cool
and then probably Comcast wouldn’t carry it so I would never get to see a CU game again :-)

Agree with all of you...
The deal that the SEC just got is incredible. The Big 12 needs to strike now. While the conference is quite possibly the best it has ever been and get a deal in place.
