Live Game Thread - Colorado Buffaloes v. West Virginia Mountaineers

Post your predictions below…some of you did in yesterdays thread but in case you woke up this morning with a better feeling, get it up! I am sticking with my prediction, 27 – 23 Buffs. Players of the Game – QB Cody Hawkins and LB Brad Jones

I’m headed out to watch it, good luck tonight, should be fun and would love to see the black helmets

Unfortunately I couldn’t make the game so I’ll be watching at home. I’ll predict 31-24 CU for the second straight game. Everyone at the game have a blast and cheer loud!

Strange. I thought that was one of our glaring offensive issues.

That was a damn good throw and catch from Hawkins to Devenny.

how does our KOS manage to only get the ball to the 5 with the wind behind him AND in all that altitude? We can’t let these guys have 50-60 yard drives all night.

They spread us out and created big lanes and our LBs just got eaten alive. They need to do a MUCH better job of shedding blocks. We don’t have the defensive speed to make those kinds of mistakes against this offense.

has GOT to stop fumbling kicks, but goodness did he make up for it with that excellent speed.

That has been my pet peeve all year, his fumbles. Everyone on here loves him though :-)

We need to hook him up with one if he doesn’t.

of reverses or screen plays, but at this point, why run the reverse? We’re moving forward, we have momentum, their defense is sitting back on their heels, and just like that we put ourselves in a deep hole.

You absolutely CANNOT miss that tackle behind the LOS. That’s a terrible job. This defense needs to show up.

missing a tackle behind the line! They might have been able to stop them short anyway, but it should not have been close at all. Because of Hypolite’s missed tackle on 3rd down, it became 4th and inches. We’re lucky they have no balls and punted.

nice running by darrel, we need more of that

on those last two plays. The line didn’t open any significant holes, he just plowed through the bodies and picked up 5, 6 yards each time. I think he’s probably our only back capable of doing that consistently.

Hawkins best option in 3rd & 5 was to heave it 15 yards out of bounds? Bummer.

but a GREAT job by whoever it was to completely stop White’s momentum. That was a nice job.

defensive recognition on the 3rd and 10 WR screen. They sniffed it out and shut it down. Good defensive series.

Hawkins could have hit the short man who was open and could have picked up the first, but he went for the secondary target 15 yards downfield. At least we picked up the first on the next play =p

The team showing their age. Wow. That was a TERRIBLE throw by Hawkins. Most of the time, he makes good decisions, but he seems to suffer from Brian Griese Syndrome of hitting a defender who just happens to be standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR RECEIVER.

Maybe I’m just far too testosterone driven to be a professional, but why not send your offense out and challenge the defense to stop you? It was what, 2 yards?

…at running back. Good runner. Not sure I quite agree with the Darren Sproles comparisons, as I think Sproles had better moves, but he is a really good RB for a smaller guy.

That’s an awful play by whoever their defender is. He clearly just took a run at Josh Smith.

Nice catch, Brown. Seriously. You can’t drop that pick six. You just can’t. This has done a lot of things well, but there has been some serious failure in clutch situations.

That would have been a pick 6. The Colorado defense looks pretty good.

way too many chances on those returns, that one probably would have gone into the end zone. .

Maybe he’s trying to force Colorado to punt from their own endzone so they can try to block the punt.

I would probably snap the ball on offense.

I wasn’t expecting Colorado to win this game, but I am definitely impressed with the effort. I think our team is much more talented than I realized.

I’m avoiding the guy next to Mark May for the rest of the season. See you after the half is over.

I was watching Good Will Hunting and switched back to ESPN and the first thing I hear is Lou Holtz screaming about giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (sp?). Immediately changed back to the movie for the “It’s not your fault” scene. LOL.

with the offensive pass interference because it’s so inconsistent. You see that play ALL THE TIME, and they rarely throw the flag. If it’s illegal, it just needs to be called every time it happens.

This looks like the Broncos offense in the 3rd quarter. Open in the first half, moving the ball well, and then stalling in the 3rd quarter because they’re overthinking themselves. I think Stewart needs a breather.

With the speed WVU has they are going to break one sooner or later.

This is what I don’t like about Papa Hawk and his game management. He doesn’t seem to have his finger on the pulse of the game. His offense has become extremely conservative and painfully predictable. You aren’t going to win games with that shit. Yes, I’m getting upset, lol.

needs to bench Smith for the rest of this game as a returner. He lets a ball bounce on the 30, and fields it twice inside the 5 without any serious pressure. He needs to sit him down.

but going in I would of never thought that the buffs would win but I still would be annoyed. 3 weeks in a row that we win but the coaching has SUCKED each game. We can be so much better. Let’s keep improving, there is no reason we can’t beat FSU next game.
