Any word on Lynn Katoa situation

I read that he accepted a plea deal and that he has been suspended from the team, but I haven't heard if he would be eligible to come back next season if he meets at the conditions of the plea deal.  My understanding is that if he keeps his nose clean for the next three years then the charges are dismissed.  I was really looking forward to having Katoa, Major, and Moehler blaying in the gold and black this year and now it looks like we will be down to one.  I hope the three of them can be starting next year.

Welcome to the site Broncoman

Katoa should be all cleared to go next year and he is approaching it as if he was a regular red shirt. Coach Hawkins rule is that if you are convicted of a felony, you are out of the program. Katoa pleaded guilty to a deferred felony charge which basically means if he stays out of trouble for three years, the felony doesn’t show up on his record. But if he screws up again, he is out. When the dust settles, the Buffs redshirting Major, Katoa and possibly Rippy will only prove beneficial as I believe they have plenty of depth right now at the linebacker spot.

I've got a feeling...

another couple years and this team is going to be real good…a lot of youth in the system.

Couldn't agree more

They have great talent and size coming through right now. I have no doubt that in the next 2 – 3 years, they will be competing for a Big 12 title.

1-2 years

The Buffs will be legitimate contenders for the Big 12 title next year and definitely the year after that. I still say we have a good chance of winning the Big 12 North THIS YEAR!

Unfortunately...

I think Missouri is probably going to run away with the title this year…

Agreed

But I think we’re second. No way KU repeats last year.

Iowa

Hey IowaBuffFan, I am in CR and am sick of these Hawkeye fans almost as annoying as CSU fans but not even close NU fans. Just wanted to give a shout out.

Re: Iowa

No kidding about the Iowa fans. Iowa fans rank among the most annoying fans in the country. Way above the CSU Mountain Goats. You are correct in stating that Husker fans can be the worst. CF out.
