Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

According to multiple sources now, Patterson has not officially signed up with Kansas State yet. Patterson called up a radio station and was livid. One report says that "he went so far as to say that the report decreased the odds that he'd be willing to listen if his alma mater comes calling."

Contract numbers were flying, that is a pretty good sign that something is in the works. My guess is that the deal will still get done.

Here is what was first said:

Kansas State Hires TCU Coach Gary Patterson

That was quick! Great hire and definitely an upgrade with a recruiting track record in Texas. TCU fans will be wondering if last night's rather poor performance had anything to do with a distracted coach.

It is rumored that Patterson has agreed to a five-year contract worth about $2 million per season, about $900k more than Prince and Coach Hawkins make.

A KState grad, Patterson spent time at Pittsburgh State during the Dennis Franchione era, then joined Franchione in New Mexico and TCU.

I have a feeling Kansas State fans are going to be celebrating this one.

I thought that was a little weird when I first saw this here

The K-State rivals site was the only source and even though the article had been up on their page for a little while there was absolutely no word about it on espn.com or anywhere else. Someone screwed up big-time, now it sounds like Patterson is pissed! K-State might have to settle for Gary B now and not Gary P! :-)

word spread like a wild fire, even radio stations and kansas news sites were

posting it. When the contract info went up, had to think it was a done deal. I still think it is a done deal. Hopefully not, GARY B would be a much better choice for the success of the Buffs

I think...

…this is less a question of the truthfulness of the information initially disseminated than the sensitivity of that info.

I hope you’re right. I’m going to be ultra-pissed if we don’t get Patterson because the info leaked to early.

We'll carry the banner high!
