Two star safety Willie Kennedy from Gastonia (NC) Ashbrook has committed to Dan Hawkins and the Buffs. Yes, he is only a two star but with a Dykes and Walters being seniors, we need all the bodies we can get. It is also nice that Hawkins was able to wrangle a kid from North Carolina. According the Rivals, Missouri and Marshall also offered Willie. Kennedy is 5'11" 180 lbs. More to come on him.

Some thoughts on Willie from a two minute highlight tape on Rivals:

He looks pretty explosive. You can tell he needs to add some size being only 180 lbs. Likes to play aggressive and isn't afraid to play at the line of scrimmage. It almost looks like he played the rover position in high school. He probably projects better as a cornerback than a safety due to his size. Has a propensity to arm tackle which will need to be corrected at the next level. He either takes aim and nails the guy will his shoulder or he reaches for tackles never having that full wrap up tackle. He has good speed at 4.6 and it shows on film. Has the ability to play in the opposing teams backfield and doesn't seem apprehensive about getting himself in a position to make a play. The 2* star rating looks about right.

ESPN hasn't scouted him

But nice to see that Buffs keep adding to the # of commits. Every guy we get has a shot at being a surprise like Stewart

At 6 now?

So the Nosa Eguae decommit is still up in the air?

At this point we need warm bodies in there, so 2 star or whatever, we will take it. Nice long distance get for us too.

Nosa has not been officially announced but I would think he is gone but 6 sounds better than 5

Until I hear officially otherwise, lets pretend he is still here
