-CU Buffs #1 Recruit Priority, Nick Kasa:

Right now Florida and CU are the schools that I am the most comfortable with. I really like CU. I am comfortable up there. I like their team. I like the guys on the team. It is really confusing going back and forth between them and Florida.

Does one have the edge over the other at this point in time?

Probably Florida. They are talking to me most of any school.

Could the Gators really be calling Kasa more than the Buffs? If we lose this kid because Florida "tried harder" that is unacceptable. They already have a better program.

-In other news, the 6'3" 220lb DE, Keenan Graham, was blown away by his visit to Colorado for the Kansas State game singling put Boulder as the best visit he has been on so far. Graham is from Las Vegas and is a four star recruit according to Rivals. He is ranked as the 12th best weak side defensive end in the nation. Getting Graham and Colton Nash would help heal the pain that would caused if Kasa left the state for Florida. For more on Graham, check out The Ralphie Report's review of him here.

Interesting quote indeed...

did the quote come from a florida site or a CU site that can sometimes make a difference…I expect Keenen Graham to be a buff but Kasa is certainly no gimme

From that same Rivals source

Kasa does state he will take an official visit to Colorado. This was something that was believed to be up in the air.

Also, several Buffs fans at Rivals seem to think that while Florida’s applying the full court press, they are also doing so with higher rated ends and likely wouldn’t take Kasa’s commit now in fear of over-recruiting the position.

Worry is a little premature here, but at the same time, some guys just don’t want to do the in state thing, and if Florida’s offer is sincere right now, it’s hard to blame him from taking the better deal.

Yeah, I think

he has to make the decision whether he wants immediate playing time at CU or a tough battle at Florida just to see the field

Talkety talk

Kasa quote; “Probably Florida. They are talking to me most of any school.”

One school can’t “talk” to a recruit more than once a week after his senior year starts.
So FL and CO may be calling once a week.
If Kasa talks to one more than the other, it’s because he initiates the call. (They could email him and say “call me” for example.)

But the CU coaches are probably calling just as often as they can. Maybe they should be emailing, too. But when recruits say “talking” now, they sometimes just mean “communicating” — could be email and or US Mail and the weekly phone call.

At least I was wrong about Oregon...

…but the rest of my gut feeling looks correct. C’mon, kid. Make me wrong!

I think Hawk will make the effort

This maybe code for Kasa telling Hawk, hey these guys are promising me a bunch of stuff, talk to me and make me feel comfortable about playing time. I still think he will need to redshirt, just too skinny right now.
