Colorado Buffaloes vs. Kansas State Gameday Buff Bites

Gameday is upon us. The Buffs play a season defining game today up at Folsom Field with a 5:00pm kickoff. Win this game and the Buffs have a little breathing room to become bowl eligible. Lose this game, the Buffs will be tredding water to find three more wins on the schedule. It is a beautiful day in Denver today. Supposed to be sunny and 71 at kickoff. Here are some links to keep you busy this morning as you wait for the game.

In case you haven't read it yet, here is The Ralphie Report's preview as well as its keys to the game. Also, look through our other posts this week for information about today's game when the Buffs take on the Cats.

CU QB commit Jordan Wynn continues to lead Oceanside as the #1 ranked team in the San Diego area as he threw for 220 and 2 touchdowns as Oceanside beat the undefeated Westview 49 - 7. Both Clark Evans and Wynn's teams are undefeated.

Nine members were inducted into the CU Athletic Hall of Fame last night and will be honored tonight. Alfired Williams and Dave Logan probably headlined the crew but all have pretty impressive resumes at CU.

Neil Woelk must be reading The Ralphie Report or everybody in their mother thinks the Buffs should run the ball extensively today. I think it is the latter:

Today, we'd love to see the Buffs line up today and run the ball like they did against West Virginia. Control the line of scrimmage, control the clock and control the tempo of the game. At the same time, we'd like to see QB Cody Hawkins pick up some of that confidence he had at the end of last season.

Ron Prince and Dan Hawkins will always be linked, according to the Kansas City Star, as they were hired 11 days apart in December of 2005. Prince has the upper hand on Hawkins, going 2 - 0 over the past two years. Change it today Hawk!

Can I update my keys to the game now? I just came across this little tidbit of information:

There is no more certain barometer for success under Ron Prince than this - K-State is 16-0 when leading at halftime. Prince always preaches the importance of getting out to a quick start, of scoring on the game's opening drive, and now it's clear why.

Key #6 to today's game: Get a lead at halftime!! How scary is that statistic?
