Buy or Sell: Kansas State Week

In honor of the "who knows what the heck will happen" game this weekend, Woodrow and I will be putting our stamp of approval or disapproval on certain subjects ranging from the game this weekend to random topics that we probably shouldn't touch but will anyway. I must thank the guys from PTI as we snag their game of "Buy or Sell." We invite you to participate if you have an opinion.

BUY OR SELL: The Buffs will out gain the Kansas State Wildcats this weekend. So far Kansas State's defense has given up 442 yards/game while the KState offense has averaged 418
IRISH WOODROW
SELL BUY
Two Words: Cody Hawkins Simplified offense I hope...
BUY OR SELL: Darrell Scott will get more than 10 carries this week
IRISH WOODROW
SELL BUY
Sounds like the injury is still a problem. Damn
Blind Optimism.  Yes it is.
BUY OR SELL: There will be a kick off or a punt returned for a touchdown this weekend.
IRISH WOODROW
BUY BUY
K State is very capable and Josh Smith was close last week I sure as hell hope so.
BUY OR SELL: Josh Freeman will be the top quarterback drafted out of this crop of QB's in the Big 12
IRISH WOODROW
SELL SELL
I have to think when Sam Bradford comes out, he will be a higher pick He might be the highest this year.  Buy not out of everyone starting right now.

more opinions after the jump...

Star-divide

BUY OR SELL: Cody Hawkins will be the Buffs starting quarterback the rest of the season
IRISH WOODROW
BUY BUY
No indication that the Buffs are ready to turn this thing over. I haven't seen anything from Ballenger that makes me think he will do any better.
BUY OR SELL: The combined points of the CU vs KSU game will be over 63 points
IRISH WOODROW
SELL SELL
I am seeing the under as the Buffs try to control the clock with the run Agree with Irish here.
BUY OR SELL: Currently last in the Big 12, the Buffs will not have the worst offense when it is all said and done
IRISH WOODROW
BUY BUY
Games against Texas A&M and Kansas State should help them Texas A&M
BUY OR SELL: This weekend's match up between Texas and Missouri will be replayed in the Big 12 Championship
IRISH WOODROW
BUY SELL
Kansas loses 4 games, OU needs two wins to pass Texas. Not happening I'm not ready to buy this yet.  Not with Texas' schedule. The loser of the RRS has made the Big 12 Championship twice in the last six years.
BUY OR SELL: Colt McCoy will win the Heisman
IRISH WOODROW
BUY SELL
As much as I hate to say it, he is the choice right now See my answer above.
BUY OR SELL: Big 12 is better than the SEC
IRISH WOODROW
SELL BUY
Its Close. Big 12 North isn't there yet, not as strong as the SEC top to bottom The top six of the Big 12 is handily better than the top six of the SEC
BUY OR SELL: According to coachhotseat.com, Tommy Tuberville is the #1 coach on the hot seat. He will be the next coach gone.
IRISH WOODROW
SELL SELL
Phillip Fulmer Fulmer loses to Miss St this weekend.

Great Job this week

Practically forcing responses from all the readers in a couple of posts this week- this and the midseason review. Keep it up.

Yards- BUY- Optimism at it’s finest
Scott-SELL- Either he’s not healthy, or he hasn’t played his way through the mental aspects of a recent injury. He’ll get there, but I don’t think it happens this week.
Kickoff-SELL
Freeman-SELL- I think that out of Daniel, McCoy, or Bradford one of them goes top 5. I think that scouts will fall in love with Freemans potential, but I don’t see him vaulting to the top 3.
Cody QB-BUY – but I wish they’d get Ballenger a couple of series against some #1’s to prove once and for all that he’s not ready for the show (or, alternatively, he is)
Total Pts-SELL – that’s a lot of points. I don’t think this game gets over 43
Worst O-SELL – IF they win Saturday. I think that will bring stability and confidence, and they’ll get stronger as the season goes on- barring any other injuries.
Tex/Mizz-SELL – One of them has to lose this game. Loser doesn’t make it to the Big XII championship, and the other one still has a shot.
McCoy-BUY – I think he’s a completely different player from last year. I don’t see any defense on the remaining schedule that he won’t be able to put up video game numbers against.
Big 12/SEC-BUY – depends on which metric you use. I don’t think that the bottom of the Big XII is as good as the bottom of the SEC, BUT I think that the top and middle of the Big XII are better.
Tubberville-SELL- I don’t know who it will be, but I bet the next coach gone is more shocking than Tuberville or Fulmer.

Thanks sc...

who is going to over take mizzou if they lose this week? I think Mizzou can lose three times and still make it to the dance.

If Mizzou loses this week all it really does...

is give KU a real shot at making the Border War at Arrowhead a game that matters if they take care of business. If MU loses all KU would have to do is win the games they are favored in and go 2-3 in there next five and they would still have a shot at the Big12 champ game. Other than that I don’t see anybody else overtaking Mizzou.

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.

That loss to Okie State really exposed Mizzou, IMO

I think Okie Lite is good, not that good. Going back through the teams that they’ve destroyed, the only (moderately) impressive win is @ Nebraska, who I’m not sold on at all. Yeah, Illinois was ranked in the top #20 at the time, but given how close that HOME game was and how Illinois has performed since then (Juice Williams has only looked that good in one other game this year, and Meatchicken is TERRIBLE) kind of makes me think that they’re going to have to outscore every good offense that they face. They have the tools to do it, but are you completely sold that they can do that to all of the good offensive teams they face for the rest of the season? Coming back from an 0-2 start in conference play can be done, but it’s really, really tough.
